Planet Fitness — Attraction in Hanover Township

For a new facility, this place needs better management. I switched from PF in Morris Plains to here because the facility in Morris Plains was dirty and the men’s bathrooms and locker room were disgusting. I thought things would be better at this new location, but not really. There is dried up urine all over the floor by the urinals. The pool or dry urine just keeps getting wider and thicker. The gym is super busy. It looks like everyone from Morris Plains is coming here and then some! The gym is very warm. The front of the gym is cooler because of the big ceiling fans there, but there is little to no ventilation in the back. The workers just hang out by the front desk. When I complained about the heat, I was told the ac was on, but the sun was shining thru the windows. This was just a ridiculous response. The windows are in the front where it is cool. There are no windows in the back where it is warm. I may end up switching to a different chain because PF clearly only hires young high school kids and incompetent managers. I've been a member since this location opened in 2023. I originally signed up for the Black Card Membership but later switched to the Classic plan due to limited use of the perks - mostly because of my commute and equipment issues.

For the most part, the staff has been consistent and professional, with standout employees like Justin & Phil (the young man with the mustache you always see cleaning), who always maintains a kind and respectful demeanor. The gym is generally clean and well-maintained, and I appreciate how many members wipe down equipment and re-rack weights.

While the community is mostly supportive, I've experienced and heard of some unfavorable interactions, particularly affecting female members. I encourage women to be mindful and speak up if anything feels off - management has been responsive when concerns are raised.

The vibe at this gym really shifts depending on the time of day. I’ve found a time that works best for me—focused, friendly, and a great way to kick off my morning. Despite occasional uncomfortable moments, I feel confident walking in, getting my workout done, and leaving feeling...

Though the gym itself is nice and clean, as it is less than 3 months old, there are ongoing problems with the TVs being heard through personal headsets from the cardio machines. Most of the TVs in front of the cardio machines are not synced up to the channel number that is displayed above them. I don't think it's a lot to ask to be able to listen to the audio of a TV while you're on a cardio machine for 30 to 60 minutes, I have brought this up with the manager Aldo several times over the last few months. Initially he said that they were working on it but now when I asked him how it's going with getting the TVs working he just doesn't make Eye contact with me and seems annoyed by my question. I've been to many planet fitness gyms and this is something that works at all of them so I'm not sure why it's so difficult to get this straightened out. If he needs to call another planet fitness to ask them how have they have theirs setup then I would expect that's what he needs to do. His lack of response is worse than the original problem...
