On 03-24-22 I walked into your Hanover, PA. location to look at desk chairs. I saw a chair I liked in Black but it was $199 and the only one they had in stock was the same chair but in Grey for $179 with three in stock on the floor. Still a little more than i wanted to spend, I exited the store. After returning to work, I went onto your website and found the grey chair on sale for $119. ($60 less) I went ahead and ordered it with the "one hour pickup" feature. I drove to the store to retrieve the chair and was told by the Manager Kevin, that he could not release one of the in stock chairs to me and that I ordered one from the warehouse and had to wait 5 more days for it to arrive. I asked him to please just let me take one you had in stock to keep me from driving all the way back there in 5 days. He denied my request. Even after I told him I am a customer that just paid for the desk chair you have in stock and he still refused. I' am appalled that your company would make a customer who drove out to one of your locations to pick up an item that was in stock, on the floor and had been paid for in full, to make them turn around and leave and have to come back in 5 days because of an internal inventory dispute. I am very disappointed with the customer service from this location and manager. I have been in retail management for many years, and pretty sure this manager could have made my request happen. The chair was paid in full, they have the chair in stock, why make the customer wait almost a week and then make drive back to the store. Will not be using staples after today, I’m a small e-commerce business who frequently orders my packing supplies from Staples. My last order was thousands, I’m in a staples store multiple times a month picking up supplies on top of my large orders I place over the phone.
Your check out person has an attitude problem, and is costing your store a lot more then whatever mediocre performance she generates I’m sure. I politely said to her she’s able to enter quantity for boxes instead of scanning each individual barcode. Her response was “that’s the way I do it” - she then went on to make up some bullcrap about how since they’re on sale she needs to scan each one, which is not true since literally every single time I’ve ever purchased boxes (which is a lot) they’ve always entered quantity and I still receive the 50% off discount for purchasing 5 or more.
I spend way too much money to be treated like I’m being done a favor when I come and purchase supplies from you, there’s absolutely zero excuse for having such a bad attitude. I’m an extremely personable person, who greeted her with a polite “how you doing” and am far from a Karen, she’s the type of employee that turns regular customers into problems.

LAST WEEK THE OLDER LADY WAS VERY DISRESPECTFUL AND INSTEAD OF FINDING OUT HOW TO PRINT THE CERTAIN LABEL SHE WAS GOING TO CHARGE ME TO USE THEIR COMPUTERS PULL MY EMAIL UP AND PRINT MY OWN LABEL!!! SHE WAS EXTREMELY RUDE, I FINALLY AFTER 20MINS IN STANDING THERE, I FINALLY GOT ANOTHER EMPLOYEE TO SHOW HER HOW TO DO IT, TOOK 2SECS. I FINALLY HAD ENOUGH OF HER RUDENESS AND TOLD HER SHE NEEDS TO NOT BE IN CUSTOMER SERVICE. I USUALLY SEND FROM YORK LOCATION WHICH IS 10X IN THE BALL AMD INFORMED THEN THIS LOCATION.
