I moved into The Wyldes in June, and I honestly have mixed feelings about the building. The leasing process was a breeze and Kimberly was nothing less than fantastic. During the move-in process, we hit a hiccup which ended up costing me since another tenant was still using the freight during my reserved time. I also specifically asked if the apartment would be deep cleaned due to the amount of dust I witnessed and I was told it would be. This wasn't true and it costed me hours of dusting my belongings after I moved in which was extremely frustrating. Wiping down the counters is NOT a deep clean and if I was told otherwise I would have coordinated to handle prior to moving in.
For a newer complex, you would expect things to still feel new, but it's clear the building is not properly maintained. From the stained hallway carpets, broken outdoor grills, multiple corridors with painting needs, overgrown greenery and the constant garage door issues.
Overall, it's a beautiful space which I don't think anyone can deny but there are some basic issues you shouldn't expect for a new build. When your neighbors walk, you hear them with or without rugs (which in the lease you are expected to buy area rugs due to this design flaw). When someone is walking in the corridors the floor above you, it sounds like a stampede which leaves you a bit uneasy in the evening hours. The appliances are small (fridge/washer & dryer) and I hate to agree with other comments, but they're cheap.
Let's get to some facts about the building:
All amenities in the building close at 10pm, the pool closes at 8pm. I was told there are times if you are already in the space you wouldn't be kicked out, which isn't true. Rounds are done and you're asked to exit by 10:03pm. The grill areas do not have an area for you to wash your hands or anything you may need to rinse. Instead, you're left to walk into the clubroom spaces which is a bit inconvenient and I've never seen this lack at other luxury buildings. The pool could also be cleaned a bit more frequently considering the number of tenants that utilize it.
The garage is a problem-- I can barely get in/out of my SUV due to how close the other cars are expected to park. The garage door has broken several times leaving me trapped inside and the dust covers my cars within a day of me having it cleaned which is extremely frustrating. There were earlier reviews of damage being done to cars (rust from overhead pipes dripping) which unfortunately happened to my brand new vehicle. I escalated this to management with no response. I was forced to pay for the car to be detailed to remove the stain which cost me a few hundred dollars.
The package room is complete chaos. I can easily spend 15-20mins trying to locate a package although it was sold to me as a high-tech space. You then exit the room with a line of tenants frustrated since only one tenant is allowed at a time.
On game-days, you need to plan ahead, there's no other way to say it. Your guests will need to pay for the $20 parking when visiting during these games as there is no other option. It feels a bit chaotic surrounding the building but I guess this should be expected if you move so close to a stadium. Expect the noise, mess and traffic. Oh, and don't try and leave the building close to when the game ends because you will be stuck in traffic for 30-45mins in order to go three blocks. I was told we get discounted tickets for the redbull arena which wasn't true unfortunately considering the nonsense we have to deal with as tenants living across the street.
The town is clearly in the process of being gentrified and lacks some of the basic essentials like a decent supermarket. The PATH train is extremely convenient and I would have to say the biggest pro to me moving to Harrison. Overall, the Wyldes can be a beautiful property if it was better maintained but there are also some very huge design flaws that really makes me question how they can consider this a "luxury" property. I can't say I hate it, but I can't...
Read moreUpdate 1/23/24 - It's been around two months since my last review, and if I'm being honest my frustrations are continuing to mount. Since my last review, various policies have been put in place that cause more inconvenience as a resident then they do enhance the experience, including:
Now requiring all 'box recycling' to be separated and sent to the first floor of the building, which can be a far hike for folks who live on the other side of the building. I've seen many residents complain about this inconvenience, and I have personally never seen such a policy enforced in a luxury building before A mandatory 'carpet policy', due to the poorly constructed nature of the thin walls. At the end of the day I recognize there is little the building can do to insulate every single apartment unit, but to pass the cost of the mandatory carpeting onto the residents, and threaten them with a fine does not seem particularly kind. Furthermore, I was informed someone entered our unit to validate we were out of policy, and we did not grant anyone access to conduct a check. Had they knocked, I would have been happy to do so, but I am not happy when folks enter without consent, or scheduling the day of visit (as we may have important or sensitive items laying around).
Separately, the Electric Charging network, which was a big reason why I selected this property, is still not operable after 6 months since beginning my lease. I was informed WiFi Extenders were being put in place to fix the issue, but that was two months ago with no update.
While I plan to comply with each new policy as it is placed (regardless of my own personal frustrations), I was really hoping at this stage that we would start seeing more positive changes given the many resident frustrations.
Update 11/25- For what is now the second time since moving in, the Wydes has triggered a false fire alarm post 1am that has awoken all its residents and persisted for well over 15 minutes. Keep in mind it is 25 degrees outside.
I can understand some growing pains when opening a new building, but this is unacceptable.
Since moving in, we have encountered various issues related to the construction, most notably: 2 overnight fire alarms (which triggered multiple times overnight) My internet line cutting abruptly during work hours, which required multiple visits from my ISP to resolve Issues with the unit that required multiple service tickets to resolve A garage full of electric car chargers that have been promised, but have not been operable since the building opened in July
I really wanted to keep my 5 star review of the property, but after so many challenges I cannot do so in good conscience. I really hope the building can re-earn my trust, and that the folks in charge begin to take these cases more seriously as they are simply not acceptable for residents in any situation.
(Note- Keeping 2 stars as the building is still a decent place when the issues are overlooked. I will amend my review if we see improvements moving forward)

The Wyldes is a new rental property available in Harrison, NJ. It is scheduled to open late summer 2023, and will house numerous luxury units across an impressive 5 floor eco-friendly structure. To share some initial thoughts:
Leasing: I was extremely impressed by our leasing agent Kimberly! She was so fun and informative throughout the touring process, and we ultimately signed a unit day-of thanks to her.
Building: Regarding the building itself, the initial model renders look fantastic...and after a quick tour of the building in-progress, I'm confident the genuine article will be even more breathtaking.
Units: The unit we signed is definitely on the larger-side for Harrison, which is always a plus. There is a lot of closet space, tons of kitchen cabinet space, and a balcony on nearly every unit.
Commute: Quick 7 minute walk to the PATH. Felt very safe.
Overall I'm really excited to move here, and definitely recommend it to anyone interested in the...
Read moreIf you are willing to live in a half-constructed, not ready-to-open building then this is the right place for you.
I moved in on 7/21 and before that, the leasing agent told me they had a "grand opening" a week ago so I thought it will be a nice and smooth moving process for me.
I was DEAD WRONG and this place has been a HEADACHE ever since.
When I first got here, I was told that they don't use a key and that everything is controlled by the Carson app, it seems to me that no one has a full understanding of how the app work and my account is not set up correctly, I need to ask the management to open and lock the door for me until they fixed it.
When I opened my door I was shocked to see how dirty the place is, there is dust everywhere on the floor, the counter, and inside the cabinet, it is almost as if the room was just finished construction and no one seems to remember to clean it before they left. The management said the cleaning crew is not here today and they can only clean the floor for me tomorrow, so I have to mop the floor at least 3 times before I can put my mattress in. The washer was almost shaking itself to the ground and I have to turn it off before it breaks itself. Also, I CANNOT turn off my bathroom exhaust fan. I don't know if this is a design or they just simply forget to put a switch on it so I have to close all the doors at night to keep out the noise and the management said there is nothing they can do about it.
Before my move-in, the leasing agent did tell me that half of the building is under construction but I didn't imagine it is this close and dirty, the construction starts every day at 7:00 am on weekdays and 8:00 am on Saturday so if you are a morning person and not don't need a few extra hours of sleep on the weekend then that is fine for you. There is construction dust everywhere in the hallway, my doorstep is covered by it and a fair amount penetrates my room so I have to clean it every day to keep it neat. I literally feel like living on a construction site since I can see the open wires hanging on the rooftop just 5 feet away from my door and not to mention the smell of it. (Attached pictures are taken from my door)
Next is the amenity, you can only use the app to open the doors in this building including the elevator and parking garage. But there is no signal in the elevator and the garage so if I am coming from the garage to my floor I need to make a stop on the first floor, open the door, let my phone get a signal, and then tell the elevator to go to my floor since it can only go to ground if your phone doesn't have a bar. The same goes for the garage door, when I go out, I literally need to stop my car at the gate, get out, find the signal for my phone, and then if I am lucky, I can then open the gate. I can already see the angry faces lining up waiting for the gate to open at 8:00 am on a Monday.
Also, since the address is new, some deliveries cannot find this building, so be prepared to walk to the 4 other apartments nearby to find your package if you don't see it here. And I have already lost 2 packages since my move-in which was 2 weeks ago.
On the bright side, I like the interior design and the high ceiling, as well as the view and the lighting. The front desk crew is nice and helpful even though I can tell they are tired of dealing with so many issues from everyone. The management keeps saying that this is a new building but there is a difference between "New" and "Not ready". This place is clearly the latter and there is so much work that needs to be done before they open...
