Market BBQ #2 — Restaurant in Newark

This comment is for the people that complains about delivery taking too long and such, as a former driver there it's a busy restaurant however on the peak hours all employees do say it will take up to an hr for delivery. And why u might ask. It all depends who is delivering your food, when I was there I would roughly take between 10-15 deliveries 40-45 mins would got it all done, but also clients have to answer they're phones when alot of times they wouldnt. If you live near the restaurant those orders would b dropped off first all that's further out will be last. Some people have to understand it's 2 guys to make delivery and we would have harrison, kearny, and north newark and at times Elizabeth to cover as well not just ironbound. Of course it's not your fault but it's deff not the drivers. The owner refuses to hire a 3rd driver as it was mentioned many times, so when it comes for delivery expect to be late specially on the weekends. And also Monday and Tuesday it's just one driver to cover it all. So always keep in mind before complaining about...

We ve been going 30 years to this bbq place. Truthfully, business charging practice is not honest or fair. He is putting on his business expenses that are not ours to the customer. Combo is 28 to pick up and to dine in 32. I asked the owner and he said oh 4 for bread and for dish washer. What the hell! Ribs too small. Plus 1 rib cut in 4 ways. really 1 rib. Cut 4 ways. . I dont expect mega ribs.. The ribs in the combo are two thin small, with fat strip, no beef cut up, the rest chicken small and no meat. This combo is for one person that does not like meat or poultry too much. You only have to fill up on bland rice n fries. The beef ribs n chicken are way too small for the combo price. I was still hungry. Plus,supposedly tax. At 7% for paying with a debit card, supposedly tax. In fact, o k ow there's some scam they use to charge one a percentage for debit cards. Don't go ,quality down hill and overcharging like crazy. Yeah I'm paying the bread and dishwasher. Who else does he want his clients to pay? Money hungry, pay the dish washer...

Great food great portions good atmosphere authentic portuguese bbq however the restaurant isn’t worth it when the food comes cold. I’ve worked in restaurants I know when the food is warm or not. And it isn’t my fault when the restaurant has too many orders and too few drivers for delivery. Plus when I ordered just now the owner is really rude and won’t deliver my food to my door. Now that is not okay has I’ve been ordering food from there for years and makes me come get the food from the restaurant. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE FOR DELIVERY !!! FOOD MOST TIMES TAKES ABOUT 50+ MINUTES AND WHEN IT GETS TO YOU ITS COLD AND FRIES ARE SOGGY.
