Extremely Disappointed – Lied About Muffin Freshness, No Respect When I Raised Concern
I’m writing this review out of genuine frustration and disappointment.
This morning, I asked the staff if the muffins were freshly made today or leftovers from yesterday. The person behind the counter assured me they were made fresh this morning, even emphasizing, “We never sell muffins from the previous day.” I explained that I have a very sensitive stomach and cannot eat food that’s not fresh or that has been reheated. I made it very clear: if the muffin was made yesterday, I wouldn’t buy it.
He insisted again it was made this morning. But when I took a bite, the muffin was cold all the way through—clearly not something that had just come out of the oven.
When I returned to speak with them about it—not to ask for a refund or make a big complaint, but just to be honest and prevent this from happening to others—I was met with complete disrespect. The blonde female staff member kept grinding coffee beans while I was talking, making it almost impossible to communicate. No one paused to actually listen to what I was saying. No one asked how I was feeling after I mentioned that the muffin had upset my stomach.
Instead, they immediately asked if I wanted a refund or a replacement. That completely misses the point. I don’t care about a $3 muffin. My issue was: I was lied to. I was misled into eating something that caused me physical discomfort. When I brought it up respectfully, I was ignored, talked over, and treated like an inconvenience.
All I wanted was a simple: “We’re sorry that happened. We’ll be more honest next time. Let us know if you continue to feel unwell.” That’s it. But instead, I got noise, indifference, and a complete lack of accountability.
If a customer asks whether something is fresh, tell the truth. Not everyone can handle old food. I could’ve easily chosen a croissant instead. It’s not about being picky—it’s about trust and basic transparency.
I sincerely hope this place does better in the future. A sincere apology would’ve gone a long way. But this kind of dishonest behavior, followed by dismissive customer service, is...
Read moreI've been living at Harrison URBY for about 4-5 years but it was not until last year when I started being a frequent customer at the Coperaco Cafe.
The cafe is soothing with the right music, fixtures, and most importantly, the baristas.
The baristas are attentive and always patient when they take my fussy order (Triple shot, either extra hot or light iced oat milk latte with caramel syrup). They even care to explain to me which syrups are sugar-free or answer my never-ending questions.
I must mention Nella, Nicole, Farah, Paulina, Ashley, and Priscilla. I recently gave birth and there were many times where I had to make a quick coffee run. Nella has held onto my coffee while I check on my son. Nicole is always sweet, sharing little news about her family or interacting with my baby. Farah makes the most amazing refreshers whilst Ashely is not far behind. Paulina is a firecracker often brightening up my day. And not to forget Priscilla who is a thorough professional. And they make my coffee, hot/iced chocolate, and refreshers well.
Even when I'm not getting anything from the cafe, I will make a quick visit to say hi because these girls make...
Read moreDisappointing service. Extremely rude and condescending employees. We visited Sunday afternoon and ordered two coffees (iced latte and iced macchiato) and a muffin. I was told that iced macchiato will be a espresso shot and foam and what I got is the picture attached. This picture is without a sip of coffee from it. If this is how it is suppose to be, use a different cup to serve. We went to the counter and asked why is the cup half full (or half empty) and one of the girls replied pointing at the one who took order responded “did she explain to you what macchiato is”? I said yes she informed espresso shot and foam, and this girl just did not look at us and continued doing whatever she was doing. We returned to our tables because at this point it was clear that they had no interest in serving us.
The decor is good and over all vibe was chill. Place was not empty (I guess the adjacent apartments bring good crowd to this place), but the people at the counter made our experience sour. Will not be recommending this place to any one. 2 star for the blueberry muffin and the...
