ABC Super Stores — Local services in Newark

My mother loves this store, and I understand why! You can find almost everything in here for great prices. Downfall is that you have to help yourself, there’s never anyone around to help you! Either they are short staffed or simply hiding talking to either other staff members or people they know! Today my Mom decided to shop for curtains, we wanted other curtains but could not find anyone to help us, so we proceed to check out, and here we have the pleasure to be checked out by this female who is having a conversation with the cashier next to her, about a place she had been to. Sooo disappointed with the way this young lady never acknowledged us, even as she took our money!!! I had to ask her, “ WELL HOW MUCH IS IT?” I say she doesn’t belong at the register, since she is more into her co-worker than her clients. Well at the end of the day it isn’t her store and we are not her clients, so what does she care? Good luck if you’re ever at this ABC store and have this client friendly cashier (not) .. she was RUDE, and NOT ATTENTIVE at all…. Made me nervous as I paid with $100.00...

9/1/23: women's tops are not true to size. XL fits like a Large or Medium. Very disappointing. I now have to return 3 blouses that are labeled XL and are clearly NOT XL. The clothes are LABELED with an American size but fit like an Asian size. THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN OUR CLOTHES ARE MADE IN CHINA 6/6/22: THIS LOCATION IS STILL GIVING OUT PLASTIC BAGS On 5/12/19, I was browsing through the store and over heard a Managers phone conversation. He was very angry at one of his workers. He was loud and used inappropriate and vulgar language. I cannot believe the amount of profanity he used on the selling floor and in front of customers. I have never seen such unprofessionalism from management before. I guess because he works in an urban area his clientale does not deserve better. I so wish that I was a "secret shopper". This type of behavior, no matter the geographic is unacceptable. This was a lack of self-respect and a lack of respect for staff and most importantly...

I love this store! They have great deals on clothing and shoes and accessories. This store is very busy so I suggest going when it's not ultra busy because the line can be long. This store is crowded and difficult to move around in because theirs a lot of people shopping and the clothing racks are very close together. The upstairs has home goods and cookware, bathroom and kitchen and home accessories like mirrors and folding meal tables, towels, curtains and stuff like that. They sell electronics like speakerboxes and headphones, etc. downstairs near the cash registers. They also have a decent selection of purses and bags and mens clothing at very good prices. This is Ironbound Ferry St. in the Portuguese section of Newark where all the good restaurants are so you may have to drive a bit to find parking but this store is worth it if your looking for stylish reasonably priced clothing!!!
