Some of these reviews for Nightmare Factory here are on point. I would NEVER recommend this attraction to anyone. It's a shame because a good haunted house is a great way to get in the mood for Halloween. We went at 10:00 p.m. for the "rated R" version of the event. We knew to expect a more intense experience but things didn't get scarier after 10:00, they just got rude. The actors curse at you from start to finish, pull hair, grab, shove and are unprofessional bullies. The set up is a cool haunted house but the people that work there totally ruin it. As I said, the haunt is cool but the event organization is wretched, the worst I've ever seen. Parking is the real "nightmare". No direction at all. It's grab it and growl, first come first serve. The ticket lines are almost painfully long, no lie, you will wait at least an hour and a half for the tickets. Then you get in line for the attraction. Ugghh!! I like to try and be fair on reviews but I will be honest above all else. A business can't be faulted for overcrowding and long lines but there are plenty of poor management decisions that they must take responsibility for. So here is my breakdown of bad and good. Bad: The attraction PLAINLY states that after 10:00 there will be bad language. I expected that but the "actors" just scream F-u in your face throughout the whole walk. So not scary, just annoying. They make nasty personal comments. Again, rude not scary. The touching IS NOT to enhance the scare at least half the time. My sister had her chest full on grabbed and my daughter had a nasty bruise with scratches going down her leg. That was battery! If I were "sue happy" I would have taken her straight to the hospital to have it documented and filed charges and a law suit. I'm sure no one pays their money to be injured at any attraction. Security is a joke. There were many, many drunk rowdy people everywhere. Again, ,management can't control who shows up but they darn well have a responsibility to take care of the people there. We stood in line for the attraction for three hours and people REPEATEDLY kept cutting in the line. We told management and basically got a shoulder shrug. I've commented a few times on how many people were there. After standing in line for almost two hours, the line totally stopped moving for over thirty minutes. We asked an employee what was going on and we were told the entire inside staff was on a BREAK!! With hundreds of people on line waiting! The outside entertainers were funny but the humor was on the edge of obscene. Again, after 10:00 but, as usual, parents that don't take R ratings seriously had kids there hearing some pretty vulgar humor. One of the better parts pf the experience but still didn't make it to the great column for me. If they were ensuring everyone in attendance was at least 17 then two thumbs up but not appropriate for kids at all. There were lots of void areas in the main attraction. Empty hallways and uneven flooring. Watch your step! When we took our concerns to the management, he listened to what we had to say and then told us we were dreaming if we thought we were getting any money back. Didn't really expect that he would refund us but when service is this poor, you should always ask. Good: The attraction it's self isn't bad. It could be really scary if the employees worked with the environment and didn't distract with bad behavior. Cheep at $15
In short, we left exhausted, annoyed and not scared. It was a Booo but not the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāll start by saying the effort is there. The sets, costumes and layout are great. The execution is lacking though. Iāve wanted to go since the place opened but Iāve always chickened out. Iām not hard to scare. But I was looking for something to really get me there because I love the thrill. We bought the $25 combo since Infected was closed otherwise we would have gone for the $30. The girl at the ticket booth was very friendly which was a plus. The lines and attractions donāt seem to be manned very well. It almost felt like a free for all. It wasnāt clear who worked there and who didnāt. You just kind of figure out what to do and where to go on your own. They were filming a commercial before opening which is fine but it would have been nice if they had announced that they would be opening later on social media so we wouldnāt have had to stand in line for 45 minutes longer than necessary. The factory and psych ward were okay. I didnāt scream or jump once but it looked cool. The use of strobe lights in the psych ward were great. Could have been very effective but was more fun than scary. The funhouse was cool. But once again not scary. The clown who ran the attraction was fun though! I liked her. The mausoleum could have been really good but it just wasnāt scary. The guy running it was kind of a jerk which didnāt really help the experience to be fun. All in all neither of us felt like this was worth the $50 bucks. I applaud the effort. But there seems to be a lack of passion that goes into this haunt. Weāve been to 5 different haunts this season and I have to say this was the least scary. Iāve been to backyard trails that made me jump and scream louder. Maybe itās because itās at the end of the season and everyone is tired. Or maybe the rated R hours are where the real scare is. Iām not sure but honestly Iām not dropping another $50...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe first time I went to the Nightmare Factory was 2 years ago, and I went the weekend of Halloween. I got in line at 10pm and didnāt get into the main attraction until 2am. By the time I got into the main attraction, I was so tired, so annoyed, and I didnāt care anymore. I just wanted to get through what I paid for and go home. I didnāt get scared, I was just annoyed the whole time. It was a bad experience.
But I decided that I wanted to give it a try again last night, and my experience did a 180 turnaround. It was AMAZING! I waited in line for maybe 20 minutes, but there wasnāt very many people in line, so they were making it a very personalized experience. When I got into the main attraction, I was immediately greeted by terrifying clowns. And it wasnāt like a normal walkthrough, it was very interactive and had mind games. This was one of the best experiences in a haunted attraction Iāve ever had. I reccommend going when it first opens when the lines arenāt really an issue. Either that or go on a Thursday or get a fast pass.
Thank you all for a great experience. I will definitely...
