Great community theatre. We make a point of attending a show every time we are in Kona. Each show has been a very enjoyable evening and we'll worth the time. The interior of the old theatre is enjoyable. The sight lines are good and the sound travels well. A word of warning as it can get a bit warm inside, but they do sell cold beer, which makes everything ok... Our rather large group enjoyed the Momma Mia show.

I went to see Little Shop of Horrors with my family. It was MAGICAL! The entire cast played their parts so well. The theater is ancient which makes it all the more charming. We are so fortunate to have live theater in our small community. I truly love this place Prices are reasonable so if you have never experienced a play or musical by live performers you MUST go!

They aren't up to the skill of Miami or New York or Las Vegas comedy clubs, but they are doing their best. Occasionally, they will shine. I try to support them often, as there are very few live performances available on the Big Island. Through March 10, 2024, they are doing "9 to 5: The Musical" on Fridays & Saturdays at 7:30 pm and Sundays at 2:30 pm.

The Lady in Red: I just came home from an awesome performance of Beauty and the Beast with 11 members of my immediate family. APAC continues to amaze and entertain us with their talent, artistry and creativity. However, I was approached by a lady in red who asked me to remove my baseball cap. I was not aware of a dress code but said I would take it off. When I got to my seat I removed it even though I saw a few other people with caps on. I was reminded of a visit to Allan Wong's restaurant in Oahu where I was asked to take my hat off. At that time I chose to just leave and go elsewhere. While this was going through my mind, my head started to feel cold so I put it back on. I thought to myself that this lady would not bother to single me out again since the show was about to begin when all of a sudden she was standing next to my seat and told me " you said you would take it off". I said that I had thought about it and changed my mind and left it at that. It continued to bother me throughout the show and at intermission I could feel her eyes on me in the lobby. When the show ended, we were walking out behind an older lady with a service dog. As we passed the lady in red, she told the woman with the dog to pull it closer to her. I got the impression that she is someone in "authority" at the theater used to telling people what to do but I really don't care because I came to see a show, not to be told how to dress...

Recently purchased tickets for myself, wife, and two children for Little House of Horrors. After the online purchase I received an email with “guidelines” for show. In the guidelines it details that no one may enter unless fully vaccinated with vaccination card showing proof of vaccination. This is fine as my wife and I are triple vaccinated with proof. My children however have only received one shot and therefor could not attend. Still not a big deal and we understand. However when emailing the theatre to ask for a refund immediately after purchase (and viewing guidelines) we were never responded to. Never acknowledged. Never refunded. It was about $80 total. Pretty unprofessional for a business acting very “professional” with its Covid regulations. We are all for the proof of vaccine, just think it was not fair that this information is not clearly written on website and mentioned prior to purchase. Will gladly change my review if I receive a response from the business...

Great older theater that features traditional plays and an improv ensemble & Jam. The kids/teen educational program has been supporting this community for decades and is a hub of artistic expression in S. Kona. It's a wonderfully funky old building from the 1920s which adds another level of charm to any show experience. Everything I've seen has been very well executed and with talented performers. Sadly I don't have any photos. There is a small lot for parking and ample street parking since all the stores around appear to be closed at night. They have concessions for shows. Their education center has great offerings for adults too, especially in the comedy genre. A...
