We heard of this place from family and decided to try it out. Terrible, awful service. Ghosted and left without food or any idea if/when it was even coming.

I could stand the wait to be seated (means its good, right?), I could stand the kitchen being out of chicken and buns and having to order something different (shit happens, right?), but our server literally never came back after we had to change our order and after she delivered half the table. Not once. Not to update us on its status or ETA, not to refill drinks, not to ask how the food was, not to take plates or ask for deserts, nada.

It was like she didn't exist from that point on. Eventually, after waiting almost an hour after the reorder I had to ask another sever to bring ours over just to get the check for the table (with my wife and my food still undelivered and its statis unknown). She couldn't even bring us the check herself and had a coworker do so.

Several other tables that were seated half an hour after us received their meals while we received no attention. The service was phenomenally poor.

The atmosphere was thumping music in the background that was distracting and just overall bad. Baseball was on both tvs. We'll...

They need to rethink their approach to customers and to food. Everything was much too spicy, including their ketchup. The poke burger (way too expensive for $18) was small and came on a cold and chewy bun. The mahi was mashed into a grey paste. Ingredients were not fresh or carefully selected, but tasted very generic. Stay away from the pepperoni garlic fries - the cook (who turns out to be the owner) drowns them with a salty garlic paste. The Thai salad consisted of unimpressive greens, and an overcooked and too spicy minute steak. The only Thai component in the salad was the sauce. When we diplomatically pointed some of this out to the waitress, she brought out the owner, who started an unprovoked rant about one-time customers like us. He seems to have a rebel attitude even towards his customers, and does not shy away from insults and nasty displays of anger. This is the first time that I will report a place to the Better Business Bureau. If you look at the other negative reviews, you can see the trend: Too spicy, and rude customer relations. I recommend you stay away from...

We stopped by Rebel Kitchen for lunch (their hours were 11a-5p when we visited). There was a brief wait but it’s understandable given there were only 3 people working (there was a sign outside saying that). Once we were seated the staff was friendly and attentive. They took our food order quickly and the food came out shortly thereafter. We were hungry so we ordered the Cuban Rolls as an appetizer and they were so delicious with their homemade mustard drizzled on top.

I had the BBQ Chicken Salad which had many fresh vegetables (although I think the corn might have been canned I won’t hold it against them) it was also a generous portion. My husband had the Blackened Ono sandwich which he enjoyed, he especially liked that the bun was homemade and did not fall apart.

They have homemade desserts too, we were stuffed from lunch but ended up getting a few cookies for later - one was a gingerbread type cookie and the other a lilikoi macadamia nut which was our favorite of the two.

If you have a chance to go you should - just be patient and kind to the hard...

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ **Solid entrees, incredible desserts—and don’t skip the appetizers!** Rebel Kitchen has a laid-back vibe and some great highlights on the menu. The entrees were decent—the beef stroganoff was mid but still had good flavor, and the cheesesteaks were good, just a bit dry. That’s probably why they offer their Hawaiian fire sauce, which is super tasty and definitely helps bring things to life. Garlic fries were pretty solid, especially if you're into bold garlic flavor. But one of the biggest surprises? The **Cuban rolls appetizer**—absolutely delicious and right up there with the desserts. Super flavorful and definitely worth ordering. Speaking of dessert, Rebel Kitchen knocks it out of the park. The lilikoi cheesecake was bomb, and the tropical strawberry shortcake was very good. But the **raspberry lava cake** was the best thing I had. I got the sorbet and cake served separately, and both parts were 10/10. I’d come back just for that!

Excellent!! Traveling around Kona and the west island, this is a bit of a smaller town find. If you’re not sure you’ll be in the area, I’d recommend making the detour to ensure a stop! This place was featured on Guy’s Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives TV show and we totally get why. Easily our favorite lunch on the west side of the island. We enjoyed one of the burgers, some shrimp & ono curry, as well as the lilikoi lemonade. IMO the soup of the day - some sausage chowder- was the ultimate star. Could eat that by the gallon. All of it was fabulous. Even the ketchup… special and tasty. Buy a bottle to take home! Servers were busy and still made sure to take good care of you, too. Rounded out the experience nicely.
