Aloha De Nada Empanadas — Restaurant in Hawaii

Super super tasty!

This is a tiny place, with barely one small table inside. There is seating outside, though. It's a one-man shop, literally. The empenadas are made fresh to order, so it takes a few minutes to get them once you order, especially if it's a large order. We get them to go, so seating is not an issue.

The flavors are amazing. We've had about a half-dozen different ones so far, and will be trying more as he creates specials! The only disappointment to me were the veggie ones--and that is because they were merely "good", while the others were outstanding! The beef, the grandma's special, the chicken, the "smash burger", the butter chicken, the ube dessert--all were fantastic!

Happily for my waist-line, Tony is on vacation for a few more days at this point. I look forward to eating far too many of these delicious empenadas when...

Cutest little empanada place in Kona!

My boyfriend and I visited Aloha De Nada Empanadas while we were on vacation in Kona and it did not disappoint! Tony makes the best empanadas!

Food: We ordered a bunch of different empanadas, we got Grandmas's Empanadas, New York Chopped Cheese Empanadas, Ube-Bae Empanadas, the vegetarian empanadas, and the oreo one as well. All of them were incredible- the vegetarian and oreo ones were our favorites. The flavors are so incredibly unique and go perfectly together.

Service: Seems like it was very understaffed when we visited so the wait time was a bit long, but we didn't mind.

Atmosphere: Very cute and inviting! I would love to visit this...

Finding a place up mauka in Kona that has good food and is reasonably priced is not always the easiest thing to do. This little hole in the wall is the place. The empanadas are cooked to perfection. The seasonings are just right. The service is with a smile. I have gone back a few times and haven't been disappointed once. Today I tried the sweet ube and cream cheese empanada for a dessert. Delicious. You can check their hours and days open on either Facebook or Instagram. It does vary some weeks as they could be catering a special event. Check them out. Trust me. You'll be glad you did. PS... just to warn you, they do sell out of some items the later...
