Charles is the epitome of Aloha! I chose to spend my 52nd birthday learning a new skill, surfing for the first time! I just wanted to have a good time and share the day with my husband being in the ocean learning something new. I would say the experience is not only enjoyable, but life-changing. I learned to surf, riding six waves! I have a friend for life with Charles, and even some other amazing people. I met along the shoreline over the couple of days my husband and I spent learning. Charlie and his co-instructor were great. Our in-laws got us private surf lessons for our trip to Kona. My wife, myself, and our two kids aged 10 and 12 all managed to get up and ride. They had good surf shoes and rash guard shirts to provide for each of us. The instructions were very clear and they were positive and patient with all of us. My friends and I booked our first surf lesson with Charles after reading the great reviews. All of us were absolute beginners. He was extremely patient and encouraging. Everything he explained was super easy to understand and we all ended up riding a few waves. He makes you feel really good about even accomplishing tiny steps.
