My in-laws have been living in Kauai for 6 years and had never been on this tour, so we decided to go this trip while we were visiting. The staff at the ticketing booth were incredibly cordial, great care was taken in boarding the safari-truck safely, Fletcher our in-vehicle tour guide was knowledgeable about the local flora & fauna with equal parts entertainment and education, Tanji our driver/mixologist was an adventurous yet safe driver, and on the way to our first stop (you get 4 tastings & 2 cocktails on the tour) they asked about any food allergies. Once we got to our first stop, mosquito repellent was made available to all participants since we were in the jungle, and then the tasting portion began - it was question & answer style, very informative, and very humourous. A cocktail was then poured followed by a photo-op (Fletcher is well-versed in operating different kinds of smart phones). On the way to our second stop/cocktail at a gazebo surrounded by a pond, we observed as they fed some of the roaming pigs, pointed-out some other resident animals, and gave us the opportunity to use the outhouse before we ended our tour. Truly enjoyable, will absolutely do it again, and highly recommend it for residents & visitors alike. If you have issues with walking, you may find this slightly difficult since you do have to step up to board, but they are also happy to assist with that. Mahalo for the memories, boys!

This is an awesome tour to take. Very unique and refreshingly different than anything else offered on island. Plus at $55 (current price) you get to sample 4 different rum varieties and have two delicious cocktails. We have currently done this tour twice and had Kai and Tanji. Both were the best. Highly recommend the 4pm tour! Trip starts with driving through all the fields that supply their farm to table. This is a good opportunity if you would like to know more fruits etc. You then arrive to the first stop which is a boardwalk and pavilion in the middle of the jungle. Here you get to sample 4 different varieties of Koloa Rum (currently using them) and one cocktail. The environment was superb. After the first location you get to meet some of the farm animals (pigs, goats, cows, etc). You get to feed some of them and it’s a fun time. The final location is my favorite. It is a pavilion located on taro fields. There are lots of seating and it’s a good spot to chill. The final cocktail we had here was one that was designed by Kai. The drinks they make put most bars and restaurants here to shame. Super delicious and well worth it. Lots of pictures below.

I live on Kauai and have been wanting to do this tour since its inception a couple years ago. And boy am I glad I went. When I have visitors, this is going to be top on my list for things to do when they get here. My two cousins and I had the most amazing time on the 1:30 tour. Our tour guides Fletcher and Tanji were over-the-top awesome. Tanji has a real gift for reading his crowd and making everyone feel included. He's absolutely hilarious. Fletcher has a connection and passion for agriculture, farming and our aina (land). They are both real gems and so knowledgeable. They both clearly love what they're doing. The Kilohana Plantation property is absolutely stunning. And even as a long time resident, I'm always amazed at how much there is to learn about the history and culture of our little island. And then there's all the fresh fruit and crops they have. Cashew trees? I had no idea! Great job utilizing and stewarding our beautiful aina for the good of our farmers and community. The whole experience was wonderful.

Great tour & overall experience! The tour office is located at the front of this beautiful old plantation home, so you can wander to the Koloa Rum gift shop and train depot while you wait for the tour to begin. The tour is max 20 people, and you drive on a ‘safari truck’ through the bumpy orchards and farmlands to get through to your first of two stops …all narrated wonderfully by the two guides/barmen. Some of the best rum and cocktails we’ve ever tasted. The non-alcohol related highlight was definitely the ‘field of pigs’…amazing! Could only have been improved if we could have held one of the tiny piglets!!! Picturesque second stop in the middle of the taro plots. Would highly recommend this for everyone. Getting on and off the truck might need a little assistance for those with mobility issues.

Hawaii, Rum, Safari! Those three words should be key in your trip to the island of Kauai. Kauai Safari was AMAZING, and I'm not just talking about the rum. Booking the tour was easy. When you get there you can explore the plantation. Our tour guides were Tiny and Fletcher. Funny and informative, and great bartenders. The land itself was gorgeous. So many plants, so much rich history and culture. One moment you are on a "farm" the next you're in the "jungle". They even have sheep, wild pigs, alpacas (that are shy), friendly cows and horses. Now the important part...RUM! Koloa Rum Company has great rum. Different kinds to sample. We tried Gold, Dark, Coconut and Chocolate. I loved the dark personally. Our guides explained the flavor notes we could taste, and its so spot on. This is definitely a 5/5!

Friends recommended this tour to us, saying it was their favorite thing they did on the island, and we could not agree more! First of all, before the tour even started we were able to enjoy playing with kittens on the grounds, which made our heart swell. Fletcher and Tiny were so much fun and energy from the moment we got into the truck. They made the tour so enjoyable! And the safari was so incredible- we loved seeing all the animals, feeding them, and learning about the different fruits around the grounds. And we can’t forget to mention the drinks! Absolutely amazing, we had a mai tai and a new drink they had just created that didn’t even have a name yet! We loved every minute of this tour and highly recommend it. It was just the right amount of time and booze, too.
