Waimea Bay is a picturesque beach located on the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii. It's famous for its exceptional surfing conditions, which have attracted surfers from all around the world for decades. The bay is home to waves that can reach up to 30 feet in height during the winter season, providing an adrenaline rush for even the most experienced surfers. However, Waimea Bay isn't just for surfers; it offers a wide range of activities for visitors of all ages and interests.

One of the most striking features of Waimea Bay is its stunning natural beauty. The bay is surrounded by towering cliffs covered in lush greenery, and the clear blue waters are home to a diverse array of marine life. The warm waters are also perfect for swimming, making Waimea Bay an ideal destination for families and beachgoers who want to take a dip and cool off.

If you're lucky, you may even get to witness spinner dolphins playing in the water close to the beach. These acrobatic dolphins are known for their impressive spinning displays, and watching them in their natural habitat is an unforgettable experience.

However, it's worth noting that Waimea Bay can get crowded, especially during peak season. One issue that visitors often face is the limited parking space. It's advisable to arrive early to secure a spot, so you can avoid any inconvenience and make the most of your day at the beach.

Despite the parking challenge, Waimea Bay is a must-visit destination for anyone looking for an unforgettable beach experience. The bay offers an array of activities, from surfing and swimming to relaxing on the beach and taking in the breathtaking scenery. So, whether you're an experienced surfer or just looking to enjoy the natural beauty of Hawaii, Waimea Bay has something to...

Waimea Beach is, without a doubt, the crown jewel of Oahu’s beaches. It’s a must-visit destination that I absolutely fell in love with. If I could, I’d stay here forever.

The water at Waimea Beach is incredibly clear and inviting. What sets it apart is the calmness of the sea, making it perfect for a relaxing swim or just floating around without a care in the world. The beach itself is cool, both in vibe and temperature.

One thing to note is that you should bring a sturdy umbrella that can withstand the occasional strong winds. Shade is a precious commodity here.

While there are restrooms available, don’t count on finding soap to wash your hands. It’s a good idea to bring your own antibacterial soap just in case. There’s also a changing area and toilet paper available.

For a perfect day at Waimea Beach, consider bringing a cooler stocked with water to keep hydrated and some snacks. I can’t emphasize enough how much I enjoyed my time here. I’m just sad I didn’t capture any photos to remember this paradise. This beach truly is a hidden gem in Oahu that I could spend hours at, and I can’t recommend it enough.

One thing to be aware of is that parking here is extremely limited. During our visit, several people, including ourselves, circled the parking lot, waiting for someone to leave. It’s definitely a popular spot, so arriving early could increase your chances of finding a...

Arrived at 530am (body is still on mainland time) parking lot was partially full. Mostly fisherman out at this time. All fishing from the shore. I was there to swim/snorkel. Found a secluded spot, viewers left, in between the rocks to put my stuff so it was still visible from the water. Was in the water as soon as it was light enough to see. I was in the water uninterrupted for 1.5hrs with no one else nearby. It was a magical experience. Swam out to one of the further clumps of rocks. Also swam about halfway in to the bay as well. Variety of tropical fish and one sea turtle. Such a peaceful experience

Cont: I planned Waimea bay & Waimea falls for the same day. parked in the lot at the beach and walked over to the falls when they opened at 9am. Parking lot was full just before i got in the water. The walk to the falls was short and it was nice to not have to deal with parking or have to pay for it at all. If you can go early,...
