Paul Mahder Gallery — Attraction in Healdsburg

Talk about unexpected.

To be honest, I was expecting a small gallery that would engage me for a few moments and that would be that. I would move on with my day and forget about it...

It was not that at all. It was almost like going down the rabbit hole. I was so immersed and captivated.

There was a enormous Nikolai Atanassov painting in the main wing that when I turned around and saw it - it took my breath away.

Each piece in this gallery is so thoughtfully chosen. All of the artists pour their heart and soul into each work and it shows.

The layout beckons you to continue further down the rabbit hole, and it is not a disappointment at all.

I enjoyed Mike Berg's metal work which is both bold and incredibly detailed. Michael Cooper's work is creative, playful and challenges the idea of "form follows function." There is also an artist whom plays with the psychological aspects of living...it made me laugh and think/wonder. This gallery is an extraordinary and large collection of modern abstract photography charcoal pencil acrylic beautiful wooden furniture sculptures the largest living moss wall in the US.
