I typically love this market, until someone behind the counter gives you a hard time. It's happened to me twice, with two different workers behind the counter. One girl accused me of stealing when I had the receipt in my hand, and had actually just been through her line a few minutes prior, having spent just about $40 bucks. I'm sure it was a mis understanding, but made me feel horrible. Being accused doesn't feel good, Especially when I don't steal. Second accurance just now, was that I needed to use their restroom, but they wanted me to leave my purse and bag, and she couldn't confirm that she would watch it, as a matter of fact, when I asked if someone would watch it , she said no. I told her my wallet and computer were in there. I opted not to use the restroom, as I had even offered for her to check my bag when I returned. It was difficult walking away not having releasing my bladder, but it wasn't worth potentially losing my important, necessary items. So now, I've got to walk and find another way. It could have gone very differently, especially since I shop there frequently, including the $30 I just spent on lunch there. Doesn't make me a very happy customer. I'm rather sad , and my bladder...
Read moreThis is going to be my “go to” meat market!
The funny thing is that I had just visited a museum today just before looking for a “meat market near me” on Google maps. I followed the directions and was shocked to see that they were directly in front of the post office that I go to all the time!
This store took me down memory lane. It looked like the meat markets used to look in the 1960’s when I was a little girl. The difference was that this place was impeccable.
They had hot food on one side and the grocery store in the middle with this long counter with beautiful colored meats neatly laid out.
I held conversations with three employees. They didn’t act dumb they answered questions and talked to me as if they had known me as a regular customer. I felt special in there.
El Toro did not smell like the old meat markets though. It was clean and the prices were fair.
My friend who lives in Moreno Valley wants to visit El Toro. I recommend this store to...
Read moreI recently decided to try their advertised 99¢ fish tacos. They are so delicious! The first time I went was on a Sunday around 12. I started craving these yummy little tacos, I went in for a second time during the weekday around 7 pm, and was told they didn't have any. I went in for a third time during the weekday around 6 pm and was told they only had 3 fish tacos. I asked the lady if they can make more, she said No. I asked her what time they stop serving or making the fish tacos, she shook her head and shrugged her shoulders and told me to come back in the morning. So to my understanding, they only serve fish tacos in the morning/afternoon? Why can't they be available until closing time?😤 So I went back a 4th time, around 11 am and YES! I was finally able to get them! Omg such a pain in the butt....word of advice, if you want their fish tacos, DON'T GO IN...
