Volleyball sand courts nightly teams playing. I don't know how anyone can play in those teams. I guess just come over and talk to someone playing. Too dark to take pictures. Ages 15-45 based on who I am seeing playing. I've seen players from 7:00pm - 11:00pm depending on the day and when I take my walks.
The pictures are of the Pittman Wash Trails. Tonight I walked 0.77 miles because there are wild animals in the wash after dark. Wanted to get back to main well lit park before dark. Lights are turned on by a button near the volleyball courts so there is light all night if anyone wants. There are trails inside the park too. Dogs and BBQ's welcome but trash and poop pickup is strictly enforced so keep it clean for everyone please!! Lots of trees and grass. Picnics, exercise, zen.. all wonderful. Google Las Vegas Trails Map for map of trails. Be responsible always take a flashlight, water, Driver's License and phone. No one ever predicts problems but when something happens --...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreVolleyball is our jam, and Pecos Park has become one of our go-to spots! The atmosphere is great, and thereās a solid community of players who come out regularly to enjoy the sand courts. Itās almost the perfect setupāalmost.
The biggest issue holding it back? The concrete chunks and debris mixed into the sand. Itās a safety concern and makes diving or even simple movement risky. We love the space and what the city has started here, but it needs that final push to really make it exceptional.
@CityofHenderson, weāre asking for a project to:
Dig out the concrete and old base layer
Sift the sand for safety
Add fresh, soft sand to complete the upgrade
A lot of people are using these courts alreadyāand with this improvement, the space would fully match the energy and passion the community brings.
Letās finish strong, Henderson! This could be the go-to beach volleyball spot in the valley with just a little more love.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is a small but peaceful park. Had a nice mile walking nature trail. Community seems to really like it and makes good use of it. I did not walk it but read the history. The board shows the trail to be full of different types of creatures and plants. Will do the walk and report here as soon as I do. The bathrooms are clean. Little weird though do to the outside looking newly renovated, but inside looks like the original structure. See it and youll understand. Garbage cans seem to be the declarative of this park. Grassy areas to lay. Baseball field, vollyball, tennis court, and kids play area. At first glance this park looks small and basic. But this park is far from it; it has many...
