“the only remaining 17th-century Puritan meeting house in the U.S.” I was lucky to get to a peek inside!!! Did you know that Abraham Lincoln’s ancestors were from Higham, Massachusetts? There are so many Lincolns buried in the cemetery out back! And how cool is it that you can worship in the same seats of those from generations past at 10:30am on Sundays (though the church closes for the summer, it will be open for tours a couple days a week). Please leash dogs! The amazing cemetery had loose dogs running around! This is a special place, not a playground. I also ask, as a medically fragile person who cannot be jumped on by any dog (friendly or not): think about the safety and peace of others when you take your dog in public. If it isn’t your backyard or a dog park: please leash your dog!

I’m a descendant of Deacon John Leavitt, through Israel Leavitt. Was only here for a quick trip and it was closed but I’ll make the trip back up to see the inside one day

This is just one of the places I visited in Hingham. The entire city is a gem. These church bells were going the entire time I was downtown, beautiful!

If you know Hingham at all, you probably don't need to read my review, but Old Ship is a cornerstone of this great community. Minister Ken Read-Brown serves as a great compassionate and wise leader. Hingham wouldn't be the same without this congregation...

I found a community there. It was open-hearted and allowed for new ideas. Miss it. Also, upon entering the meeting house, I felt the historical presence of so many people who gathered there. Wonderful place,...
