This past Saturday my family and I had an unreal experience with a woman who claims to be a manager. She was beyond rude when my mother asked for a drink to be remade as it didn’t taste right and looked as if it may have been curdling. This “manager”, instead of just saying OK, and remaking the drink, stood at the table stating well I don’t know what be curdled, There’s nothing in here that would do that and proceded to analyze the drink with an attitude. I asked the woman what the ingredients were in the drink, one of them being Bailey’s, which in fact, can curdle. The woman brings back the drink, and again with her attitude says there’s no problem with this I made it myself. - still in shock at this woman’s behavior, my family was now very offended by her audacity to speak to patrons in such tone. I worked in the industry for many years and it is absolutely unacceptable to speak to customers the way this woman did. another staff member must have witnessed or overheard my family speaking about this woman’s behavior because just moments later she came back causing a scene and shaking her finger in our faces. The food came, and the woman never came back to check on us until we had clearly had the table packed up, ready to go. I said, thank you went to hand the woman, my card, and she did not respond… so I said “your supposed to say your welcome” and then turns around yet again accusing me of coming into the restaurant on many occasions, disrupting people and being rude… this woman is clearly delusional because I can count on one hand the number of times I’ve been in this restaurant the last time being well over a year ago however, my family who lives in the neighborhood did go there frequently. Thanks to the supposed managers, absurd uncalled for attitude. I know my mother and the rest of my family will no longer return there. And just add after speaking with friends and family about this awful situation, they knew who the woman was just from their own bad experiences with her. Unfortunately sometimes in the industry you come across tough patrons, but never do you ever have the authority to speak down to them and make them uncomfortable. Especially when the trouble started from the employees own feelings on why we shouldn’t have sent back a drink that simply only needed to be remade…...

The server was kind of new, learning her way, attentive, and helpful.

Food rec'd rave reviewers from our out of town guests. That was good to hear.

We were exhausted from several days in Concord and Lexington, where we didn't have a disappointing meal! We had french onion soup [needed to meld a bit more], burger [v good, "tots just potato"], turkey sandwich [oh, so good!], and fish & chips [good, the slaw was "incredible"]

7.5.25 Breakfast today was very good for 4 of us. Moderate 20-30 min wait; our server, Sam, was spot on, as she timed her visits for coffee and water refills, checking on orders to asking if we needed anything; great job!

Cali omelet rec'd high praise, as did the eggs Benny Florentino [we asked for spinach]; the caprese omelet lacked punch of the basil pesto, even though I asked for extra; and, the single pancake for the table [a shared sweet treat] was a big hit!

Then, it was off to the ferry for our guest, to start their transport home to DC, finishing a phenomenal July 4th visit for the...

Sad ....after many visits since Star opened it is not the same. Maybe the pace of business has worn down attention to what's happening on the plate . Decribed cooked outside cold in the middle how I wanted meat cooked, I am very sure I got what they forgot on grill With big crowd, as I was careful to tell young waitress what I wanted, I cut it in half and said take it to who you gave the order to and say customer said really?? She came back with cooks lecture on safe cooking. I asked for a menu and said point out cooked levels to him NONE say white to grey over cooked! ! By now 3 couples who waited for seating behind me were all eating. I had to walk to bar to get second beer nothing still on table When grilled meat and asparagus came the mashed p. COLD . Fuel for grill must have changed....such bad fake propaney taste in both...I was done. Called my Uber. Bar staff nice, waitress nice but was working tables at both sides of restaurant. After this I won't try the others, I have when spending every September...
