My first time there for a music venue. I had been to the Art in my younger days for movies. I like the small size and, that really, there are no bad views in the house...sort of. I haven't been to a concert for a long time and never planned on going to one again, but I couldn't pass up Michael Schenker. I had a lot of favorite guitarists I would learn from but I especially loved his style. So, obviously, I would want to pay attention to his playing and would need a good seat. I didn't have a VIP seat and glad I didn't waste my money. The front of the floor is open for standing and if there would've been some kind of barrier or line to demarcate where you couldn't stand, then those in the VIP section wouldn't have had to leave their seats to get a view. I didn't care for the first two bands so I just sat and even on the left side I could see the musicians. This got worse nearing Schenker's set so I had to leave my seat and stand. Unfortunately, I was most of the time behind a concert boozer who kept bobbing left and right and wouldn't sit still. He finally moved out of the way for the last 30 minutes of Schenker. I regret not standing on the right front because I know this is where Michael plays. I would've asked him for a pick, darn it. Anyway, I would recommend not getting VIP unless you get meet & greet which I don't even think Schenker did that. Check first. Well into the last band, you could even go into the VIP because of empty seats but why bother when your view is blocked by the...
Read moreOfficer Eudy was amazing n Tiffany from the 80s was also there not long ago! Ive been going to Art Theater since I was 7 years old (40years ago) my bestie Lisa's Mama took us! We use to go every weekend, the previous owner Ed Pruzeski (spelling?) use to run the one person ticket both in the front of the building. I have had MANY MANY memories in this "Landmark"!!! I took my daughter to the Art when she was young, then my whole family went there together when our girls were growing up. I hadn't been there in years, until Tiffany (singer from 80/90s) came in town. My besties went to see her and had a blast. Last night I was supposed to goto the Hard Rock for a comedy show, with the same bestie Lisa, but it got cancelled, we were looking for something to do and she said that the Art had a comedian playing. When I found out it was Officer Eudy, it was on like Donkey Kong! I had just started following him on social media a few weeks ago, what a...
Read moreFirst impression. No parking. Second impression. 23⁰ outside and they open the doors late. Third impression. Even though the tickets have bar codes, they can't or don't scan them. You have to give them your name, then they look for it in near darkness. Takes FAR too long to get in from the cold with this archaic system. Fourth impressson. People who arrived early save seats for people who arrive late limiting seating availability to those people who show up on time. Fifth impression. Horribly uncomfortable seats. My tailbone is still sore. Sixth impression. The theatre is FAR too small for dangerously high decibel music and screaming singers. That's just irresponsible and dangerous. You can't move far enough away. Unless you leave. Which we did. The original bands may have been loud, but they didn't play to 400 seats. Seventh and final impression. Two stalls. For...
