A small, but great family area for the kids to run around. The playground is modeled like the canal boats which was cool. They even have a swing for someone in a wheelchair. There is a footpath that goes along the edge of the park with some reconstructed parts from the days of the canal. On one side it a creek while on the other is the train yard. The Reiser House is a museum right next to the park. It was closed when we stopped by. There is a small nature park nearby called NatureWorks Park if you are so inclined to drive over to. My only issue was that the entrance we used was next to a business with limited parking. But this was because Google Maps routed us wrong. On the other side of the bridge was the actual...

I really enjoyed my visit to Canal Basin Park and Visitor's Center. I visited on a gorgeous spring day while all the trees were blooming. There are very well-maintained walking paths. the bridge is very picturesque and would be a good place to look for birds and aquatic wildlife. Most of the park is wheelchair/stroller accessible from the visitor's center. There is a rest area with a vending machine for refreshments next to the visitor's center. It also has picnic tables which are within view of the playground. There is a small amphitheater for events, which is accessible for wheelchairs/strollers. This is a nice slice of green space in the very urban environment of...

This park/playground is amazing and I'm amazed it took me this long to find out about it. I read about it in the Mirror Moms magazine and my three year old son loves it. The slides are huge and even me as an adult, and my husband, loved going down them. I really appreciate that they have swings for wheelchairs and special needs children here. Actually I appreciate that they have swings in general because not too many playgrounds have them anymore in this area. With Legion Park being closed right now, this park was a great little find. It's definitely worth it for me to take the drive from Altoona to Hollidaysburg for this park, great for kids and...

Super fun place for children to play...they have a lot of equipment for kids to play on. They even have play equipment for handicap children who may have wheelchairs which is very thoughtful. There are 2 large slides, 2 baby swings, 2 older children swings, 3 handicap swings, and a smaller park area for little ones too! This place is also great for taking pictures for Prom or other events!

Great park. Lots of paths to walk ride bikes or run on. A ton of different levels of playground equipment from older kids to toddlers to adults who still think they’re kids. Benches for picnics and lots of historical information. If you can it’s worth a stop. Very clean too.
