AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!!
I had a couple of things in pawn and told them that I needed one to two more days to pick the items up. I had $20 that I put down to prevent the items from going to the floor. The $20 was accepted. I went the next day to pay off the loan and pick up my SLR, and the item was sold! I asked why and was told that it was past the due date, that I had not paid the $20, etc...Needless to say, I was furious. This was the final piece of straw that broke the camels back. That wasn't the first time either. I had a stereo receiver in pawn and told the manager that I would be coming in a day late(due to a family emergency) to pick the item up and was told that it was sold, and that he had no memory of that conversation taking place.
They are not knowledgeable about jewelry. I had taken a few pieces of jewelry in, and they used a magnet to "verify" that these were gold. There aren't many pure gold pieces, since gold is a very soft metal. They use different metals in the alloy and anyone who works in a jewelry shop should know this. I encountered a lady who claimed that she had worked in several jewelry and pawn shops before and knew what she was talking about. This was not the case.
I had a ring that she passed a magnet over and the item was attracted to it. Again, it's an alloy. The piece was marked ".750", which is another way of saying 18k. Since this lady worked in many jewelry shops, she should have known this. She didn't want to take the time to do the chemical test. I have worked closely with jewelers and know a lot about jewelry. Anyway, she didn't end up purchasing the piece. When I got home, I tested out the piece, and of course it tested as 18k.
I'd also like to point out that they rip you off, whether you're purchasing, selling, or pawning, beware. The interest fees they charge on pawns are exorbitant, they give you nothing for your items, and they rape you on the purchases. You're better off going to ebay to buy and sell.
If you do end up going there, you can't say I didn't warn you. Have fun in the unorganized lines, rude staff who are condescending, the steep prices, the high interest rates, and overall, an awful...
Read moreEDIT: I am very upset/sad to have to edit and say that for my layaway (first time using layaway) that I am not happy w.my service. The issue was I forgot my due date and when i spoke with someone on the phone the day after it was due I was informed to come and pay or it will be taken. This was a thur/fri, i said i cant today but i can over the weekend or on Mon. Then I asked if that is ok, can i come in on weekends for that, then I was told (by woman on phone) their hours and yes I can but to hurry before its taken off my layaway. I said yes I understand, sooner than later, and i repeated 1x how can I/will they hold it for me 2 come in weekend til mon Mon to pay it and she said "its not guaranteed but ok." So I still clarified beforeI hung up by saying ok I'll be in this weekend or Mon. She said ok good/great, something like that and we hung up. Mon comes and i call 2 confirm alls well before i drive there 2 pay it and nope I'm told its gone and was taken off my layaway the day it was due WHICH was before my convo w.the lady which means Why did she even have that convo w.me,if it was already out of my possession/layaway?! So then i asked now what since I'm new to this and I'm told i lost it,my money, etc and i can still get it (no one has bought it yet) and put in layaway again but i was quoted a higher down payment than i initially spent and fyi no,the price wasnt raised...so what the heck!? Im confused and upset...they played me it feels, not before my due date but since. I see why i never messed with layaways or pawnshops....grr.

Read moreFirst I have to say, I’m not a complainer I usually go with the flow or walk away but, when someone makes me feel the way this girl made feel today I have to say something. The first time I was at a pawn shop was at this same location, back then I was looking for a unique wedding band they didn’t have anything at the time but I noticed they had a Gucci bag on display for sale and then I thought maybe I could sell couple of my designer bags, so after finding time from my busy schedule I decided I was going to stop by, I went in and this young girl “ tried to help me” I told her what I was trying to do, she told me she would buy my Louis Vuitton keepall duffle bag for $10 It took me a minute to understand what she was saying, and so I asked again “you said $10?” She replied “yes” I was in disbelief what I heard, it’s a 3k bag and by any meaning I was trying to sell it for not even half for what I paid for, but definitely not $10, if she doesn't have the knowledge to determine if a bag is authentic or not she should have said so, I totally would understand she was taking care of the company she works by buying and paying what’s fair to the company and to the customer or maybe ask someone else for an opinion. She could have had handled it differently and not insulting me by offering $10 for my bag. She needs a little more training of how to speak to a customer, not everyone who steps into a pawn shop is trying to make ends meet by selling their stuff, some are just trying to get rid of stuff that they don’t use or don’t...
