Anybody been to American Thriftstore in NY?! This was one of their Florida locations #thrifting #thriftshop #thriftwithme #thrifthaul #thrifttok #vintagefashion #vintageclothes #vintagefinds

Unfortunately this thrift store is more like a "reseller" store. Everything is super expensive now. Not what it used to be. They separate anything name brand and mark it up to an insane re sell amount and they cant even authenticate the items.. Used balenciagas with creases $400.00. Used air force 1s all beat up for $59.99. Used LV purses that aren't even authenticated $100 - $150.. another pair of balencis that were super rough for almost $200.00 And the list goes on. The purpose of a "THRIFT STORE " is to give lower income families and communities the opportunity to be able to buy "DONATED" merchandise at a super affordable price and have the luxury of enjoying an expensive item at a "THRIFTED" price. This place is far from that. Sadly. After 10 years of shopping here I will never return. They need to do better for the lower income community and lower those prices. They shouldn't be pricing items as if I'm buying a used item through a private seller. That's not the purpose of a thrift store.

I walk in and suddenly the cashier fallows to tell me I couldn’t come in because I had to give her my purse (tote) I was like NO are you out of mind , not only that I was sporting my new Louise Vuitton and she wants to take the purse and set it on the floor , first time in this place I regret it , call the manager to ask since did not see signs to indicate otherwise and the looser doesn’t even pick up the phone calls , what kind of business is this ? So bad at customer service.

The attitude of the employees in this store is unbelievable. I went today with a friend and was treated so rudely by the woman at the fitting rooms. I tried on my initial 5 things and then was booted out of the fitting room. I thought “Fine, I have a couple of things and there’s a line”. So I was shocked when the next women tried on her five things and then was allowed to grab more clothes. I waited patiently for all the people who were there after my initial try on to go into the fitting rooms. Then I tried to go in only for the lady to tell me I couldn’t go in because my friend was still in the dressing room. This made no sense at all because we were two different people and were trying on different clothes. There has been other people who were clearly with each other who were allowed to go in fitting rooms at the same time. The way she said this was with so much attitude you would’ve thought I skipped the whole line and was being obnoxious, while I was just waiting and playing on apps on my phone. Not only that, but when my friend asked for my opinion on the clothes she was trying on (while I was waiting on line), the woman was rolling her eyes and giving us the stink eye. I decided it wasn’t worth the bargains and that until this store fixes their terrible employee attitude situation, I have no plans on...

I am giving 5 stars because I LOVE the store. I have been shopping there since its inception. I know everyone and feel at home. BUT...today is Monday and I wanted to get the Monday deal of $5.00 off for every $25.00 spent. I l left my coupon at home. I asked to speak with the manager. A new guy whom I have never met. I introduced myself and told him that I am a LONG time customer and explained the situation. This person could not be bothered. He looked like he was counting the seconds until he could walk away from my simple request. He just didn't care at all and was rude to me. All I was asking is to get the deal that is given on Mondays and to please do me a favor and override the system on the computer and give me the discount. After all...my bill was $117.05 before the tax. He wouldn't do it. At that point it wasn't the $ anymore. It was HIS OBNOXIOUS FACE AND ATTITUDE AND HOW LITTLE HE CARED ABOUT A CUSTOMER! Whether someone is spending $5, $50 or $500...a manager should care and give good customer service. I was only asking for the deal that is given on Monday...even though my coupon was at home. If I were is Bloomingdale's or Saks Fifth Avenue...ANY employee would have given the "coupon"...except this stupid manager. Everyone is an asset to American Thrift in Hollywood EXCEPT for...

I’ve been to this thrift store three times, and every visit has been a mess. The racks are so overstuffed that it’s hard to shop, and the workers act like you’re doing something wrong just for trying to look. I’ve actually had arguments with employees just to browse.

A lot of the clothes are dirty, stained, or even have what looked like body fluids on them. The store is always packed, and the line is usually 20 people deep. There’s no organization, no management presence, and no sense of structure at all.

The cashiers are more interested in talking to each other than helping customers. One even took a phone call while ringing up my items and walked away, leaving me to wait for someone else to finish the transaction.

They once gave me a coupon for five dollars off my next twenty-five dollar purchase, but when I came back, they refused to honor it. The cashier tried to make it seem like I misunderstood the offer, even though I knew exactly what it said. It felt like they were trying to make me second guess myself.

Yes, you might find something cool if you’re lucky, but the energy is bad, the environment is chaotic, and a lot of the prices are way too high for what they’re selling. It’s just not worth the drive...
