I called on 8/21 at 3:23 pm I Was trying to ask for basic information In regards to the steps I need to take to receive a Pell grant to attend their school Surprisingly it was information they were unable to give to me Since it was the financial aid department They did say that I should call the other school since the program I was interested in wasn't Available at their campus and I said OK but would you mind answering my question what steps do I need to call the other school and I said OK ma'am I'll take the phone number and she hung On me As I was in the middle of saying that I called right back same woman answered the phone I said ma'am I think You Accidentally me hung up on me and she started laughing hysterically oh yeah I'm sorry about that let me give you that number.. So I called the number I pressed financial aid and guess who answers the phone The same exact woman. Who then tells me that I have to call back tomorrow because it's now 330 and their office is closed How nice of her to not be able to answer simple questions and then run me around so that when I do call back and get her again she'd be able to tell me that their office is closed My dear friend also called and spoke with this same woman today in the morning Again unable to answer any questions she said she emailed him some information In the email she sent the link for the school Attached with an email and a name and number. We have been unable to get in touch with that person. I only want to know do I fill out the pellgrant form on my own or do I do it through them after I register i feel thats a simple ? For the Financial aid Office 2 answer. Apparently the work is too strenuous and our Frustration hilarious It's just so sad to see and you're seeing more of it how people just don't want to perform their job duties They're lazy arrogant expected to get paid for nothing I found the same exact problem at broward college. If you happen to find a paid employee but mostly it's the student services with the students handling everything Who are lazy entitled and arrogant and don't want to do s. I went to mcfatter tech I went to broward college almost 30 years ago but the process then was extremely simple the people were extremely helpful they were paid employees you went in to the office for your appointment everything was taken care of right then the same person all on that day. You took your entrance test you filled out the forms You applied for financial aid They help to pick out the first classes. It's just so disappointing how much things have changed and people have changed. Basically now people sit there and get paid to say go online and figure it out your d self God forbid if you're disabled If you're in your 50s or 60s and you wanna do some re-education. You're basically tossed aside to fend for yourself and if you get it great if you don't oh well for you. This is not what the education process is supposed to be It is not what these people get paid to do In our tax dollars go towards this so-called public education system If this what the office staff is like I'm terrified of what the teachers like. You Don't find this at the expensive universities that only the rich can afford The treatment of the studentsThe quality of the education the staff giving the education huge difference. I...
Read more!!!DO NOT ENROLL INTO COSMETOLOGY OR BARBERING!!! The cosmetology course at this school is not what it seems. You will learn more about hair services working at an actual Salon as an assistant. I recommend you obtain your certificate and Cosmo. License somewhere else. I will try to be as brief with my review as I can be. I enrolled into the cosmetology program in August 2022. Starting this course, I was immediately bombarded with the unreasonable and confusing amount of required services for the completion of the course plus 1200 hours (which is Florida's law). The service sheet is impossible to complete given the time I would be enrolled for and the amount of days a week I was going to school. I was only at school Tuesdays to Thursdays for 6 hours each day. It takes at least 1-2 hours for a full hair service and they expected us to have 6-8 services done in 6 hours. It makes absolutely no sense also considering we are students and not professionals. I was also told that I would only be making 2 payments for both semesters courses 1-4. At the start of course 4 in the beginning of April, 2023, my cosmetology teacher QUIT WITHOUT TELLING ANYONE and left to move to Nigeria with her boyfriend and told no one about it. She did not communicate when she would be leaving and left answers for no one. She refused to answer her phone and messages. The director of Cosmetology, Elizabeth Henry (very nice woman who was also good friends with my teacher for 15 years) is now incredibly stressed in trying to find a new teacher for us. Our class has had the same, worthless substitute teacher, who teaches nothing, for a month now. I have learned little to nothing from this course. I am currently in course 4 and I have insufficient services and hours required to graduate. The math just doesn't make sense. If I was to start in August of 2022, I should be finished by June in time to graduate. But instead, we will be finishing by July-August AND have to pay $900 OUT OF POCKET just for another month and half to be able to finish the course and graduate. Just like all my classmates, I am VERY confused about this. No one in administration can give us a straight answer that makes sense in regards to payment and hours. It seems like this is how they make their money. They tell you one thing but they hide the rest of the information. I was not told anything of what I am currently experiencing. I cannot express the horrible and upsetting emotions I feel. The staff in this school is so unprofessional, lazy and so f*ing RUDE. They have truly wasted the time of many talented women in this school. Please do NOT enroll into this school. It is a financial trap and you get absolutely...
Read moreIf you are pursing a trade Sheridan may be for you but if you are planning in the future to get a higher education where your credits can be transferred, choose another school who is truly an accredited school. Information that was given at Sheridan when coming to Orientation and speaking with Advisor was a LIE. It was said that if you decided to continue education depending on your major, that it will be up to Broward College school to tell you how many credits you will probably get. The teachers were great. Extra hands down to Mrs. Kim Curry. She was a great teacher. Unfortunately, it seems like probably the only credit you can transfer from Sheridan is nursing. Your time will be wasted if you're trying to pursue something else where you plan to continue later down the line. It wont be counted for at other schools especially if the say Broward College will give credits because they don't. Atleast not from Sheridan. You better ask other schools even if you get into nursing from Sheridan, to know it will be accredited for, ok. They have Certificates at Broward and Miami Dade College as well where you can go and take up a Certificate from these schools to major in some of the same things Sheridan have to offer. At least if you go to Broward or Miami Dade, it will be counted for. It's sad to see you start all over taking classes and doing assignments that was already done. The misinformation at Sheridan is horrible and a con artist move to get students to sign up at their school. I wouldn't wish for my experience to happen to anyone else so again, if you plan in the near future to further your education, go get information from Broward College, Miami Dade College, or any other colleges. Sheridan should be stripped from calling themselves a College. They will tell you what you want to hear to get you in but afterwards you realized all they said was a lie. Do your homework and research when planning to go to a higher education after high school. Don't waste your time on something that will probably not help later down the line. I felt the need to say something about the misinformation especially when I have a family member who...
