Very clean, full time security. There are plenty of necessities—4 banks, 4 ATM’s, a mailbox, electric vehicle charging station. There are 24 hour services too-Longs, or CVS, and McDonald’s drive through. There’s a Times supermarket, a Baskin Robins, several take out eateries, including a bakery. A nail shop and a Fantastic Sam’s, and Fun Factory show that it’s kind of marketed to women and families. It’s 24 hour feature and the availability of running water make it appealing to many homeless people who mostly do not cause problems to customers but the few that do are removed by security. Parking is pretty good though it might take a few minutes to get through the lot with cars stopped to reverse out or into parking stalls. A person can get most basic needs met here and it’s best reached by getting off the freeway (going west) at the Likelike exit. Getting off the freeway at the School Street exit takes too much unnecessary time, especially in heavy morning traffic if a driver has to go through downtown.

This bakery has the cutest cupcakes and cakes, however, they are known for their turtle bread which is so delicious ... it's really hard to eat just one piece! They also serve a decent cup of coffee. When i was there, i was sorta in tunnel vision so i didn't notice if they had reopened the seating. I have been there for a book club meet up ... pre-pandemic, so I know they have a seating area. Definitely try out that turtle bread ... It makes a good snack/dessert to share ... Or not!!! Heck, i basically are mine for breakfast! Oh. I usually get the big one, but they also offer a smaller version. I'm attaching a photo, but I've reviewed them before and may have posted pics of their drink menu then.

Kam Shopping Center is one of my favorite places to do a lot of shopping and eating. They have everything in one place to get all your needs met like, Banking, eating out at assorted places and cultures, deserts , Shopping for food and household items and pharmacy needs everything all in one place. You can't lose going here trust and believe it been here since I was a child. Aloha and Mahalo ❤️💯

I am so disheartened and saddened by what occurred to me in this Longs CVS store on Friday, June 11, 2021. I was literally humiliated and almost physically assaulted by the Store Manager. He refused to believe that I had already paid for my items at the pharmacy while picking up my prescription. Even after producing my receipt to confirm payment of the items, he still proceeded to grab my personal bag and looked inside of it. He did this while blocking my path from exiting the store. I literally lost my composure and yelled at him… why does Longs continue to harass me and send store security each time that I come to this store? I asked is it the way I dress- I look younger than my age and I tend to shop in my athletic attire including a visor/hat. Is it the color of my skin? I am Latina. I asked for the manager and he said: “I am the Manager and I don’t care what you do- I’m going to retire anyway so I won’t be here much longer.” He proceeded to literally get in my face- as if he were going to hit me. I questioned him as to why he was behaving so unprofessionally and inappropriately and asked for HPD to be called. He immediately apologized. He apologized another 4 times. He said he was pushed by a man last week who was banned. I told him- but I’m not that man who pushed you or stole from the store. He again told me he’s going to retire soon. I insisted on filing a formal complaint. He made this difficult pretending not to know what number to call. I refused to leave until he provided the number to the Corporate Office.

I’m born and raised in Honolulu. I’m from Kalihi Valley. I frequent this store and for unknown reasons.. am followed consistently by the store security on a regular basis. I have made 2-3 informal complaints about this to the on duty store manager at the time. I consider myself a professional woman who works as a Victim Counselor in a Law Enforcement entity. I’ve worked hard to obtain my educational degrees including an MA in Criminal Justice. The only reason I mention this here is because I believe he singled me out due to his own ignorance and stereotyping me. I am so over being singled out whether it is due to the color of my skin or the fact that I look like a young, naive, (pardon me) but a dumb Puerto Rican! He picked the wrong Puerto Rican to pick on! This Manager must be held accountable for his ill response and unprofessional actions! I have reported him to corporate and am awaiting further follow up to handle his absurd response. I am absolutely tired of this kind of treatment - whether it is racial discrimination/profiling or just a clear lack of customer service training. For the record, I’ve never been arrested for...
