Love this park. It is a decent sized park and there are so many things that make it stand out in my mind.
We'll start off with the front first. Right as you walk in there is a whiteboard where people leave notes and you can add your own with the provided dry erase markers. Next to the board there are hooks attached to the tree so you can leave your leash and not have to worry about it. To the far right you will find a doggie water fountain that can be turned on with your foot and maybe their paw if they figure it out :) At seval spots around the park plastic bags are provided and conveniently have trashcans right beside them. There are many trees that provide a decent amount of shade on a hot day. You can find pleanty of benches and tables of all shapes and sizes to sit and watch your dog run around and play. There are also lots of different kinds of balls and toys that are scattered throughout the park. (I even saw a lady once come with a big black garbage bag and just start throwing out a variety of large balls around the park, just like she was the female doggie santa clause haha. Shout out to her being a bark park MVP!) Lastly, there is a fenced off area where only small dogs can go if they want their own space or dont do well with larger dogs. They really have thought of everything!
The only negative I have seen is that there are a few spots where really small dogs (like Chihuahua sized small) might be able to get out if youre not paying attention so if you do have a small dog I'd walk the perimeter to familiarise yourself with some of those spots, otherwise it...
Read moreBig, fun, full of toys and dogs all day long! Seriously: p.l.e.n.t.y of old dog toys lying around all over, so no real need to bring your own. Right at the base of the entrance to Diamondhead State Park and nestled next to a state cemetary, so it's quiet and scenic at the same time. Complete with a doggie drinking fountain and a place to leave your leashes while you let your dogs roam free. There's also a fenced off park for the small dogs that can't kick it with the big boys (and girls) ;) Lots of benches available to sit on and plenty of shade trees scattered throughout to keep out of the sun. Limited parking available across the street, but people constantly coming and going, so just circle around a few times and I'm sure a spot will open up. I THINK you can probably park over at the cemetary and walk over, but...
Read moreGood place to take your pup very spacious and big trees, water and potty bags provided, things I didn't like is that some regulars come and flood the park purposely to wet the ground in oder to cool down the area and it makes a large area very muddy that your dogs will get very dirty because of these and I've experienced someones else dog get injured by another dog, let just say becareful as some dogs that come here are not properly train and can be agreesive and some dog owner don't really pay attention to there dogs they just go there and read a book or zone out and forget there dogs are even there and let them do whatever they want and even allow there dogs to...
