I've been here at least 15 times in the past yr, I usually meet up with family to play bingo once every few wks. Nevertheless tonight was a terrible experience. I got there at 710pm and the parking lot was fairly empty compared to what it's like on a Fri/Sat evening or even on a Sun afternoon. To be more transparent there were HALF the amount of cars in the parking lot compared to their "usual" busy days. No big deal, I see it as a positive!
When I walked in the hall was significantly more empty than usual. Remember it's now about 713pm or so. I noticed they didn't have their usual signage out advertising their computer specials so I was slower to approach the counter. There was NO ONE in line. Again, its super slow and dead compared to their normal busy and very busy nights. Nevertheless, the woman working was a white woman with blonde frizzy hair maybe in her mid to late 40's. NOT THE OWNER. I'd never seen her here before but perhaps she works on days I've never been, maybe she's newer, who knows.
She rudely tells me that they sold out of computers and that for me to be aware they start playing in 15 min so that's most likely why they sold out already. Um no, I've been over 10 times on very busy nights like Fri and Sat when even 5 min before they start they still have a fair to good amount of computers (maybe not plenty). I didn't mention anything or get attitude with her. As it's clear she's having a bad day, is very dismissive or just generally in a bad mood for whatever reason.
I did pay attention and noticed at least 8-10 computers stacked on the counter to the left of the female worker that had names on them with yellow post it notes. I again didn't mention anything untoward or disparaging. I then politely ask for the birthday month promo/deal it indicates online that you can have 1 computer for a penny if it's your bday month and it's a Wed (for the month of May). She looks at me like I have 3 heads and I mention it's all over their social media. She seems frustrated and rudely tells me I don't have any computers so what do you want me to do?
It seems like someone with good customer service would know or ask how else can that deal or promo be honored. So I ask if they would honor it in some other way and she said no since they sold out of computers. OK it is what it is I guess. She kept staring at the cash I had out almost annoyingly like hurry up, are you going to pay for paper cards or not? I then said no problem, put my money back in my wallet and walked away and outside to leave. This was indeed a terrible experience and there's no excuse.
It's vital in life to take accountability and responsibility and I'm positive with a drastically smaller crowd than usual, I highly doubt they they sold out of computers. Maybe half of them are down and therefore not out for customers to see? Maybe they're in the process of ordering newer ones and instead want to force customers to buy paper cards? It's OK as long as you're open and honest with your customers. Let them know what's really going on and I'm sure most of them would be more willing to spend money on paper cards if they know the real reason behind why "you're sold out" of computers on a very noticeably slow night.
I wouldn't come here again based off of the poor treatment I received tonight. I also couldn't continue to ask my 7 or 8 family members to continue to support a business that operates in this manner. It's poor customer service and business acumen over all. Try supporting another bingo hall in Houston...
Read moreWas invited there 10/28/24 The young lady at the counter to purchase cards; was extremely rude. 3 employees were at the counter when I got in line. I waited 15min, the girl at the counter never acknowledged me. Finally, all the employees left. As I stood there, the girl continued to do whatever she was doing. She finally asked me what I needed, I requested a computer type card, and then another employee walked up, she stops helping me and attended to him for several mins, then got back to me. It took all of 5 seconds to take my hard earned money and hand me the device. Bad experience will never go back, even if invited.. I arrived appox. 2:15pm. Im wearing a black and white summer dress. There are 3 employees across the counter. Then one by one, they all leave, all the while not once did the cashier acknowledge me, not even when I walked up. You can see she continues to mess with whatever is on the counter. Eventually she looks at me to ask what is was I needed. But then another employee walks up and attends to him, then she comes back and processed my requests. It took all of 5 seconds to take my money and give me the computer card. I don't think it was too much to ask for her to have taken the 5 seconds it took at attending me first, then continued with her...
Read moreOf all the halls… this one is quite slow… an older crowd… that plays super easy pattens with low pots… $500 pots with a bunch of splits… plus pull tab workers aren’t as friendly as other halls … the only one who goes the extra mile is the owner… and for those looking for freebies… their promotions aren’t really promotions… (they give free computers that you can only use on a specific date, and the wine down Wednesday is a sham… they only serve during first half)
Glad there are so many options for bingo here in Houston… it was a time when Family Bingo was the...
