When I first joined the place was clean and the Manager, Luis Hernandez was helpful. Over the last 3+ months the place has become a dump. There is trash all over the place, machines break and stay broken, the pool was recently checked by the City Health Dept. because the Spa was broken and filthy but the Manager wouldn't shut it down. (There are a few good employees that do care about this club, one is Ricky, another is Sherry). The pool is murky most days, the Manager (Luis Hernandez) has been asked by many swimmers to please post more signs regarding use of the pool. Luis has refused to do anything. LA Fitness National Policy is to clean pools on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. In the last two weeks MANY vehicles have been vandalized right outside the windows! The employees see this happening but say nothing. Several members have been accosted going into the building by panhandlers. There is NO SECURITY, NO SECURITY CAMERAS either. (The Manager is too cheap to put any in. He already gets your $$$, he doesn't care about you or your safety once he has your Credit Card or Debit Card.) There are known gang members that are enrolled because, the Manager (Luis Hernandez) tells all his employees that if the new person wanting to join, has a Credit Card or Debit Card, take it. Luis has also told his employees that if there is broken exercise equipment that Members complain about, they shouldn't worry about it. "If I'm not worried about it, you don't need to worry about it." There are many members that have left, one member in particular seems to stay on the Manager's back about the broken equipment, the dirty pool and various other problems. Luis hates it when this member sees him with a prospective Member and says something in front of the prospective member. Luis has lost a lot of sales because of this person. This person is very good at telling other members, that break the rules, to stop. Luis could learn a few lessons from this person! Luis is lazy and his Trainer's are rude. Once you sign up, they give you a hard time (Yes, that's what they are supposed to do, but they needn't be rude and hateful to you while training you), and wonder why you want to quit. LA Fitness makes it hard for you to quit, but there is a way around their cheating you out of money. Download the form to STOP withdrawals/charges. Fill it out and mail it Registered Mail from the Post Office. Ask for Return Receipt Request. Once the form is returned to you, call your Credit Card Co. and tell them you have proof that you have written LA Fitness and you would like to Cancel ALL future payments. Your Credit Card company or Bank (if you use a Debit Card), MUST, by law, STOP all Payments to LA Fitness. You have rights! LA Fitness would like you to believe you don't and they WILL take advantage and collect extra months from your Credit Card or Debit Card. It is illegal for LA Fitness to do this. Once you have notified your Credit Card Co. or your Bank, they are legally responsible to help you and Stop any further Payments to LA Fitness. I would recommend recording your conversation with your card company or bank. It is legal and you have the right to do so. That's why we have...
Read moreLast week I got a guest pass from LA fitness to try this gym. As soon as I walked in, the smell was unbearable. It smelled like disgusting feet and sweat and just nasty! I'll explain why later. The young man at the desk said that he couldn't scan my pass and that I'd have to wait for the next available trainer to come by. So I sat in the chair by the door. After a few minutes passed, I asked how long it would be and he said he didn't know. Mind you, he stood at the desk and didn't attempt to look for a trainer at all. A few minutes later I got up and walked into the first trainers office. His name was Luis. RUN FROM THIS MAN. He took my ID and when I asked for it back he said I could have it when I was done with my work out. Odd? But the reason he does this is so that he can corner you when you're trying to leave and force you to buy a overpriced gym membership. The restrooms were disgusting, for a female locker room, I was surprised by the smell. The sauna was disgusting, there was trash on the equipment and on the floors, the pool was dirty and I was informed by one of the members that the Health department came by to test it because it was disgusting. I went upstairs and almost every bench was in use. Mostly by guys not even lifting, just sitting and talking. They don't 're-rack either which pissed me off, and to top it off there's no one monitoring the gym upstairs to ensure guests are satisfied or abide by rules. There's no sanitation and you have to pay extra for towels! That's why it smells so gross. When I was done working out I told Luis to give me my ID back while he tried to play 20 questions with me. Never again! I joined YOUFIT down the street for $10 a month! The membership at LA Fitness was insanely priced at $150 to initiate and like $50 a month! Run from this gym, drive a little further to find a better one! Oh and the best part about this is that if you scroll down you'll notice that Luis Hernandez rated his own gym 5 stars! wake up Luis! You are the reason everyone...
Read moreThis is by far the worst LA Fitness I’ve visited. It’s mainly due to poor gym culture and etiquette. Guests often leave things in the lockers. I’ve opened lockers and seen underwear left behind on numerous occasions. Trash in lockers. I spend a good bit of my time looking for a matching pair of dumbbells. I’ve seen guests use dumbbells or plates and not return them to the rack. I’ve seen guests leave dumbbells at the benches that are right in front of the rack. They will do their reps. Drop them on the floor and then leave. I’ve never been to a gym where the gym culture is this bad. You can go in there at open and find stuff scattered throughout the gym. I’ve seen staff members go around putting stuff back but it’s not enough to keep up with the amount of people who are too lazy to return equipment. This location needs a lot of upgrades. Equipment is old and worn down. Benches are broken. Pulley machines are missing hooks. Grips on the pull up bars and leg press machines needs replacing. Ceiling is leaking in several places. I recently went to the Planet Fitness right across the street from this location because it was late and to my surprise, the PF was in much better condition. Everything was in order. It was clean. Even the equipment was better. Please put the paper towel dispensers back on the walls. Those little wipes are good for wiping down a machine but if I spill water or sneeze and need to blow my nose, I now have to go downstairs to the restroom for paper towels. It’s already an inconvenience having to look for plates and dumbbells that are...
