I searched for a church in Houston for a friend of mine who is currently on probation, homeless and living in her car. She lost custody of both of her kids and she really needed some direction. Based on my quick research, UNION appeared to be a good church and I told her to go there to get prayer and see if they have any resources for her situation. She went and was immediately turned off that the pastor was asking for donations to build a church in Dubai. Now she's not interested in going to any more churches in Houston. Maybe it was bad timing, but I was expecting that this church would have the spiritual sensitivity to understand that there may be someone there who is having a hard life and needs some immediate help. Yep that's right I haven't had any interest in joining or going to church in ten years but the Spirit kept pushing me that I needed to be surrounded by community and others who worship.
