This is a little Mexican restaurant off the beaten path that just came onto the scene a few months ago. The reviews have been mixed in the past few months, and perhaps that was because they had to find their footing. I've been twice now in the past one month, and both times I enjoyed excellent service and wonderful food! This is not your typical Tex-Mex restaurant, for it is so much more than that. While they do have some typical Tex-Mex food items on their menu, this restaurant is closer to authentic Mexican food. The prices were very, very reasonable, considering inflation and post-COVID dining prices. You know what I'm talking about if you know what I'm talking about. Our meal came to about $25/ea, but that's because we ordered one drink from the bar. My husband and I went last night for his first time. We enjoyed the chips and both salsas, especially the salsa verde. I ordered the parrillada for one, and it was a wonderful skillet of grilled meat, shrimp, and veggies. The meat was very flavorful and the shrimp was on point! The food came out piping hot, fresh and flavorful. It also came with rice, which I generally don't care for. I gave that to my husband to enjoy, and he was amazed at it's taste! Because of his reaction, I tried the rice. It was very flavorful. I would have eaten more of it, but I know he really likes rice. I let him enjoy it all. The charro beans were flavorful, spicy, and so authentic. They had real bacon in them. A lot of restaurants have cut that out of the charro beans to save some money here and there. These charro beans were probably the best beans I've had in a long while, or as long as I can remember. And I speak with authority on this point because I frequent many Mexican restaurants and enjoy charro beans along the way. I cannot say enough about the homemade corn tortillas! I will go back to the restaurant just for these homemade corn tortillas because they were just that incredible and what life is all about! I have never had such absolutely yummy corn tortillas in my whole life made by anyone or at any other restaurant, and that includes living 17 years in South Texas in the Valley. They were just that phenomenal! My husband ordered 5 tacos regular with corn tortillas. They were stuffed with meat! Wow! But I was surprised that he chose corn tortillas because he normally prefers flour. He didn't make one comment of complaint about the corn tortillas because they were on the cusp of looking and tasting like flour tortillas. They are outstanding! The service was on point because we were not rushed at any time during our dining experience. Though the server came and checked on us, he left us alone. I appreciate that when dining in a restaurant and they allow you to enjoy your dinner. It was a nice, enjoyable, leisure dinner experience. The Houston Rockets basketball game was playing on at least six TVs that I could see. They have about eight or nine TVs throughout the whole restaurant. They also had soccer playing on another two TVs. Since we were interested in the Rockets game, we didn't request a different channel. I'm sure you could have asked to change the TV channel if all the TVs were playing the same thing, as one reviewer commented. Small thing to ask for, but all you have to do is ask. They had lively Spanish music playing that was enjoyable and added to our dining experience, but it wasn't so loud to overpower conversation at your table. My husband was thoroughly impressed with everything at this restaurant, and we will return! While there are plenty of Mexican restaurants in Spring Branch, this is one off the beaten path that has incredible food and service. Why am I going to wait 45 minutes to an hour at another restaurant off of I-10 when I can come to this restaurant and get such incredible food and great service at a reasonable price without that long wait? Some complained about a small parking lot. While the parking lot is definitely not huge, it's in accord with the size of the restaurant. You don't need a huge parking lot for a smaller...
Read moreI drive by this spot a few times a week and I was happy to see it had finally opened! I had read mixed reviews and was excited to give them a try! ✨
We went for dinner Friday night and we sat at a booth. We were served chips, and both red and green salsas and my absolute favorite was the green salsa. Wow, sooooo delish, I ate half the basket of chips just dunking it in the salsa verde 😍 We also ordered an horchata and a Joya de Manzana. The horchata was ok at best, not sure I’d order it again. My fave option was the Joya de Manzana, that’s what I grew up drinking ✨ and i cannot tell you how excited I was to see that on the menu!
For dinner we had a Gordita de pollo and a taco la Siberia and both were disappointing.
The chicken and beans in the Gordita were bland and the Gordita itself, thick was dry. The taco la Siberia was served cold, the waitress touched it with her bear hands to confirm the temp and took it to the kitchen to bring us a fresh one. When the waitress returned we were literally brought the same taco…..ummm, the same taco the waitress had manhandled and we were told it’s supposed to be served cold which is fine I’d try it but maybe give us a fresh one?
The manager came to check on us and was incredibly sweet and very apologetic and comped our food.
We’ll definitely return to try it again.
The pros are the warm and inviting atmosphere, the customer service, the Joyas de Manzana 😍and that green salsa!
The cons are the parking, as there’s not a lot and our food was a complete miss BUT they just opened.
I’ll definitely go back and try them out again and when I do I’ll gladly...

I’ve visited La Siberia three times since their soft opening last week, and unfortunately, the service has noticeably declined. The salsa, which was incredible during my first visit, has since become watered down. Disappointingly, I overheard the manager blame the change on the number of white customers in the restaurant (not realizing I understand Spanish) — an unprofessional and unacceptable comment.
The service was also slow, with our food taking much longer to arrive. All the TVs were stuck on the same channel, and the music, didn’t add to the ambiance.
It’s disappointing to see such a drop in quality in less than a week. I hope the team takes this as an opportunity to reset, refocus, and work on consistency. Don’t give up — you have great potential!
12-3-24 Initial Review. I had the pleasure of visiting La Siberia TexMex during their soft opening, and I was thoroughly impressed! The food is absolutely delicious, and the service is top-notch. The shrimp tacos, in particular, were bursting with flavor—definitely a standout on the menu.
The team clearly takes pride in both their dishes and the experience they provide, making it a welcoming spot to enjoy a meal. I’m already looking forward to my next visit to try their margaritas. If the rest of the menu is as good as those tacos, this place will quickly become a...
