When I first moved to the Memorial area, I attended this nail salon to get my nails done. The owner Vivi or Vivian (there’s 2 Vivians that work there-both are lovely) is very nice and hospitable. They had a worker named Kay who was very kind, helpful and good at her job. She was one of the most English proficient so we had a lot of convos & she helped me explain my wants to some of the ladies. Truly loved her until she moved to California. But anyway, the rest of the staff of ladies are nice, some of the ladies I can remember don g great work is Shaina and Vivian. There were a couple of instances where they had this lady do my nails. This certain nail tech I remember her name is Ana. DO NOT GET YOUR NAILS DONE BY ANA! Ana has a weird demeanor. She is rude & sloppy with her work. Not only is she sloppy, SHE IS CARELESS. This lady cut cuticles like she like she is hedging bushes! She had cut my thumb in April, which was minor but I noticed the energy she was giving when she would do my hand. She would try to tell me what she wanted me to do, she would just yank my hand back and forth. Since the cut was minor, I just brushed it off but I believe I told employee Vivian and she possibly corrected her in their native tongue. Also Vivian did great on my toes and defending me, so I let it go. However I came back in June, and unfortunately, they put unpleasant Ana BACK on my hands. After last time, I paid close attention to her demeanor again this time.. and she was still rude and CARELESS because not only did she nick my skin off again, SHE CUT MY SKIN OFF TO WHERE I WAS BLEEDING BIG TIME! And this unsanitary woman tried to dip my BLEEDING FINGER into the WHOLE bottle of dip powder. I stopped her dead in her tracks and told her “we are not doing that! That’s unsanitary & I’m not getting an infection.” Vivian was out that time so I believe Shaina was filling in which was nice because she was one of the most English proficient among them so she could better facilitate the language barrier. Shaina made Ana get out the way and another lady (she does good nails too, I forgot her name) clean me up and finished the job. I told Shaina what happened last time and how dissatisfied I am with the whole experience with this lady because I felt like Ana does this on purpose and gives terrible service! Shaina tried to “appease” me with apologies, small compliments, & a free cuticle oil. If you’ve been coming to this place, and have checked out with the owner, you would know that the owner hands out free cuticle oil here and there. So I already had about 3 of them already. I told Shaina I felt like I should be comp’ed overall for the nails and this horrible experience I suffered not once, but twice from this weird ass lady. Shaina was like she can’t do that. I said call the owner, I want to speak with her. Shaina told me that the owner wasn’t there and if she was, she wouldn’t give me a discount on the nails. I told her to try and that was a presumptuous statement she made. She didn’t, but she was panicking a little. Anyway, I told her if I pay full price for these nails, I’m never coming back to this nail salon. And I didn’t, it was THE BEST decision I made when it came to changing nail salons. Honestly, Nails of America - Memorial is 10x better than USA at quality assurance, designs, customer service, discounts, reward systems, staff, complimentary drinks, you name it! And they’re only located 1 min up the street. I tried calling the salon the next day to speak to the owner to inform her what happened but u guess she was gone for a while because Shaina was the one who answered the phone. I felt she knew it was me and told me the same thing that the owner was not there and won’t be. Vivian, I hope you have fired Ana! She was a horrible addition to your nail salon. And hopefully I remember Shaina’s name correctly. It was either “Shaila” or Shaina.. and I have put pics of the scars as proof so yall can see how this lady cut me. I couldn’t record how my finger was bleeding that last time. No apology, no remorse. Just trifling!

This was my first time trying this salon. I was very impressed with the inside decor. The ceiling is painted like the sky similar to the Paris Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. It makes you feel like you're outside. I was immediately greeted and helped with my services. Shana did a great job on my eyebrow wax and my pedicure. For all you gals who know what you need in a good brow wax, this is it! She waxed and plucked. Some waxers don't pluck the tiny leftover hairs, so I always look for that to know if I will use them again. On to my next service. I got the regular pedicure. We never want to talk about ingrown toenails, but it needs to be discussed. I have not had a pedicure in over 5 months because I broke one of my little toes. You can imagine after all that time, the ingrown toenail had become an issue. Shana got them out with little pain. The massage was great. Shana used hot stones and did a full 5-minute timed rub on my legs and feet. It felt great! Shana was conversational, but not too much. I like to be left alone while enjoying my pedicure. I was impressed I could understand her and she was very pleasant. The energy in the salon was nice. All the ladies were sweet and it was a relaxing vibe. I like a quiet salon and this was perfect! They serve popcorn and bottled water. I thought that was a nice touch. $10 for the brow wax and $32 for the regular pedicure (before tip). After paying, I was given a little notepad calendar for 2024. I thought that was nice too. It's the small things that matter. Highly recommend this place. Might even see you there on my next visit. Wink!

I was looking for a place to get a refill and decided to give USA a try... I WAS VERY disappointed!! Let's start by saying I have had acrylic nails for over 20yrs therefore I know what I like and also have a basic understanding of the steps it take to get a refill done. I walked in and the ladies were attentive, when asked what I wanted I said "refill, French tip, coffin shape JUST like they are" I won't go into details, I will just say I WAS "that guy" asking the lady to file them to shape them, they were thick, the old nails were not filed right, there were parts of the old lifted nail left (where water can get in and create fungus) it seemed like I was assigned the lady that had just started doing nails... was charged $65 and YES I still tipped her. This was on a Friday, my MONDAY they looked like they were 3 weeks old. Sad to say, I wanted to LOVE this place BUT not going back!!! what a disappointment it is when you walk into a nails shop and you are not a regular client, they put you with the person who knows the LEAST of the skills.

I have been going to this nail salon for a very very very long time, and it's always been great clean and the staff was all very nice. However in the last year they've hired some new nail techs who just aren't good. I usually get a standard pedicure and manicure so nothing difficult. I had to stop walking in without an appointment which I'd done for years with no issue. What I found was since I wasnt getting more expensive services I'd always be given the less experienced newer techs, and my nails would be good sometimes and horrible others. It was no longer consistent good service but I liked the place so I kept goin. Then there started to be a pushiness from these new ladies to upsell me on this service or that extra service....even after I said no thank you. The thing I liked about this salon was I never had to deal with that pushy upsell EVERY time i just wanted my pedicureand manicure. The last time I went one of the new ladies was so offensive and rude I decided I was never going back and I was going to leave a review. As the tech is doing my pedicure she said loudly you have so much callous you need to go up to the next level of pedicure. 2 of the other customers there looked over at her...I said no thank you...I was just here 2 weeks ago. She said oh well I don't know if I can do much to help you but I'll try, as if she was doing me a favor. She insisted again you really should get the next level pedicure. I said no thank you again. By the 3rd time she said something about my feet.... I was annoyed. She insisted that I needed to get dipped powder on one of my toe nails...and I said no I know it's cracked but I'm letting it grow out it should be fine....she says it's only $6...I said no it's fine....she said well I won't charge you as if I couldn't pay for it. By this point I was completely annoyed because she was so loud all the other customers could hear this exchange and her comments and were looking on. I have never in my life not left a tip even when my nails looked horrible, but that day was the last straw for me. It was nice while it lasted but I won't be going back. Skip it and find another nail salon there's plenty of other options. I definitely would...
