NextDoor Bar & Lounge — Restaurant in Houston

Very Bad Experience!!! We play soccer close by every Thursday so we are minimum a party of 6+. Rack up pretty good bill. However, the service has become terrible with every visit. We are not the type of people that will call manager or complain in hope of getting a free drink. However, today we got tired of this crappy service, we always sit outside and today the waitress passed us three-four time no hi I will be back, nothing we do not exist. So after 15mins we went to the bar and ordered. So we got two big beer wells and glasses carried them by our selfs. Out side is dark so we didn't see that in two of the glasses there was lettuce. We noticed after the glasses were full of beer no problem, went and got new glasses. So when we were done we split the bill between all of us, the cash was applied to the bill and the rest was paid by cards at the bar. Four of us that were paying with cards left 0.02 tip. This is my first time I have done so for 10 years in the US normally 20% if service is bad 10%. Anyways, I was expecting for the bartender to ask what was wrong, why in a polite manner? In a screaming response I got "What you are levying me 0.02 F**k this by throwing the receipts towards me on the bar. The people in the lounge were looking at him and me. I responded that there is a reason for this and that the service was poor every time we came. His response was "Then why are you coming ?" and he is right will never step foot in that place.

By the way the place is very well decorated and nice but terrible service. If I was the owner would have more waitresses out side and won't let them take shots with customers while other customer are waiting for 20mins. Also provide the minimum training. Happy Sunday! I just wanted to reach out and firstly say, love your restaurant. After relocating to the Energy Corridor from Bellaire, I was thrilled once I found Nextdoor considering Upstairs was one of my faves! However I just wanted to offer a small bit of advice. I came to watch the game last night and had awful service lol. I know because I come from the industry. The happy hour specials that were posted on your Instagram page for the Astros game was not something that was greeted with a warm welcome. I was given wine and basically left unattended which would have been fine if I had all the items I needed.I appreciate the manager comp for my pizza (although I didn't ask)but it was the cold, awkward and unwanted atmosphere that made me box of my things and leave. I felt extremely awkward and didn't get the best service (I still tipped $5 on $10). But I just wanted to give a bit of constructive criticism. I did drive over to Upstairs so my money still went towards capital lol. But yea last night was extremely uncomfortable for me.

Atmosphere: this was a nice bar I went in on a Tuesday evening to watch the Astros game. There was a pretty good size crowd mostly after work / casual clothing

Crowd: it was a pretty busy night, I think maybe 30 to 40 people

Food: their food was pretty good I’ve had it a couple times now

Recommendations: try some of their craft beer they carry or a Mojito

Staff: nice but a little slow on service (but it was a Tuesday)

Location: it’s a very nice location, pretty nice inside but with all the construction on memorial made sure not to miss it and drive by

I really enjoy making these reviews and have given my honest opinion on the place reviewed. I am not the hardest person in the world to be pleased but I have taken the time to try to recommend to people the best I can. I simply reward good reviews to those with great business practices / locations and have something valuable to give to the local community....
