One of the chillest spots ever. Their WiFi is quite good. I wouldn’t use it for uploading videos but I haven’t tried yet!
Great for surfing the internet though. I wouldn’t try hacking anyone on their network; I can’t say the same about others trying to hack you, but no worries ‘I’m’ watching you through your webcam already, I’m joking…or am ‘I’?…I am seriously joking.
If you are hiding something I don’t suggest you connect to WiFi or any 5G phone network or 4G or LTE 🤣
I took a picture of the upload and download speed/s on my laptop from my phones camera but I deleted the image…so I will go to the library again and upload the pictures later.
[[Edit on October 22, 2025}EDIT: and like I said i’d upload the speed tests; here they are. Notice, these are speed test at almost clos/e/d/ing time. But they’re ‘consisten during regular library operation hours’. As far as I can tell the speeds are throttled to circumvent an issue/s. So every new connected device should and will get similar speeds regardless of the amount of devices on the libraries network. Now I believe this network can only handle around 66 connections without any trouble. So please do not mess with my library’s network. It’s...
Read moreThis library is not very well managed. The elderly ladies at the check-out desk appear to just sit around. I brace myself every time I have to go to the check-desk because I know that they will quibble over small things like needing exact change or sighing for having to process a credit card payment. They seem to be in sinecure positions and give the impression that helping the library patron is a bother to them. The library itself is not in a very good location, appears worse for wear, and gets patrons from all walks of life. I don't hold that against the library and cherish that it can be of service to the less fortunate. But at least the staff can make it a pleasant experience for the patrons, and in turn for themselves. It takes a lot in me to leave an unflattering review of a public library, since it is an institution whose place in society I hold very dear. I recommend the nearby Jungman and Robinson libraries for a much better facility and staff experience. I hope that the management of the Walter library take notice and help its staff to be more pleasant to the patrons of...
Read moreLibrary itself is good and beautiful and staff is good but there are few issues. First thing is the surrounding and parking area where you will found homeless, better not to bring your car and ask someone to pick and drop if possible. Second and most important concern is the noise inside the library, libraries are not for conversations and phone calls or there should be a specific focus zone area but here’s not such area, so much noise, people are using phones with volume on and kids are playing so you can never focus. I was there for focus, i go to west pearland library usually and it’s thousands time better than walter library. Also i could not find napkins to clean my seats with disinfectant, make sure to...
