Love this trail! For what it is, it's a great location.
Do keep in mind, this is essentially just a greenspace carved out in the northern part of the Houston area inside the loop. But, its paved trails are a great place to unwind after a day's work on on the weekend. Great biking, and since it's flat, it doesn't require skill. It's also good for a family stroll.
Along the way you run across some great views of the skyline and pass places to eat or relax. There are several parks and picnic spots along the way too, so you can stop off for a break or pick out a place to drop a blanket and hang out...

It is a bike trail people or at least it was mean to be. This what happens in a metropolis with 6 million. If your looking for a place to be alone and away from people you won’t find it here, except maybe after dark. I do appreciate that it’s there though not too many with a bad attitude but there are the occasional few who will test the calmness...
Read moreI actually parked and started at the BakerRipley Leonel Castillo Center and then followed the trail through the Heights and then along the Bray (I think?) waterway. I traveled 12 miles before I decided to turn around. The paths are nice and there is decent space for passing. There was ample traffic and I didn’t feel unsafe but it wasn’t crowded or busy enough to slow down my ride and everyone was very considerate of each other. There were stretches with little shade, so I’d recommend sunscreen...
