I was employed by this restaurant during the first week of opening. I was FORCED to work without any breaks the entire time I worked their for over 9 hours every time, and was let go for speaking up about the misleading of the front house staff. I was told for training I would be getting paid 12 dollars an hour for the first 3 days I worked. Yet I only got paid for 12 hours of the training pay. As a server we work off tips. They have told me multiple times to tell my tables the food was taking a while due to mistakes I made, when I did not make any at all, to protect the reputation of their kitchen. The menu has a bunch of lies about the food listed. They do not have one single de cafe coffee pot inside of the facility. They serve guest different size proportions as listed on the menu. AND IF YOU LIKE TO EAT OFF CLEAN DISHES, DO NOT EAT HERE. They informed us not to wash the tortilla bens due to the dish pit getting overcrowded, and I have seen mangers themselves rinse off used dishes (forks, knives, plates) and give them to customers. I’ve asked them for paychecks subs and been waiting for 2 weeks on them via email. I have ex co workers quitting because of false pay, and improper work environments. They mis use employees and false advertise food that is supposed to be “five star standard”, I’ve seen a person personally get served a yogurt parfait that was out the refrigerator for 3 days. The customer then returned it and complained of it being too salty and sour. The yogurt had mold in the middle and they did not tell the child’s family and still charged them for the itemized food. I’ve been personally served chicken that was not cooked and still bleeding. Almost all my customers complained about undercooked food. This place is a fraud and should not only be shut down for not just their health code violations but also for abusing their own workers. I will be updating this review with how the fraud investigation that is pending this ridiculous...
Read moreThis was literally the weirdest experience I’ve ever had dining out at a restaurant in my life and I eat out a whole lot including during the pandemic so they can’t blame it on that. Nobody wanted to serve us while they kept serving other tables by us and my husband finally got up and went to the bar to get our drinks. Meanwhile I’m trying to flag down literally every server passing by and they all claim they’ll go check on who our server is and I’m still not being helped. Finally a woman at the table next to me is obviously frustrated on my behalf that they keep ignoring me and flags her server down directing them to please help me since I’ve asked so many other people and kept getting ignored. Finally someone helps us but he tells us we are his last table because he’s quitting! He goes on to tell us half the servers and even a manager already just quit right then and there! He says he’ll take our order and serve us but then he’s leaving after. He says he’s had enough of this place and can’t take it anymore. Ok then…so we order the pancake trio and the skillet. He only brings us the pancake trio which was good but the whole experience felt hurried and uncomfortable after him telling us he’s quitting along with a bunch of other staff and he’s ready to go. He brought the check, I ask is the kitchen making the skillet, is that even coming, he says no so we pay and leave. Luckily he didn’t include the skillet in the check. No explanation about why that was never brought out. We’re pretty sure a table next to us walked out without paying after they found out from us how a bunch of the staff had apparently walked out and their server suddenly stopped serving them. Since we were not served our full order and we’re still hungry, we killed time around the shops in the area until another place opened for dinner so we could give our hard earned money to a place that actually wanted to serve us. Weirdest most unprofessional dining experience of my life....
Read moreWe were in a new area of Houston and decided to try this place. Asked lots of questions of our server about the food and really wanted an honest opinion. Our server would have told us she loved everything on the menu no matter what it was. It felt a little disingenuous. I would have been happy with a “that’s good but I prefer this”. Something. She said she loved the fajitas. I ordered them. Worst fajitas I have ever had. $35 for 1/2lb fajitas a cup of rice, a cup of beans and a few thimbles of shredded cheese, sour cream, pico and guacamole. The first tortilla I pulled out hardened before I could build a fajita and had so much butter on it I nearly choked. The menu said there was garlic butter served with the meal but I never saw it and the fajitas were soaking in some sort of buttery oil which was terrible. I’m sorry but this was just bad. My daughter ordered the chicken quesadilla and again the tortilla hardened too quickly which means it was over cooked to begin with. She ate about half. I will say it was nice to have black beans but it was just a paste of mush so that was a texture issue for me and not necessarily bad in general. The queso and chips were really good and our server did keep our teas filled so that is why she got 3 stars. We didn’t send anything back and I still fully tipped because it was a risk trying a new restaurant. Houston you are 0-2 I’m gonna need you to do better. Whenever we go into Houston we try to find someplace new instead of always going back to the places we know but I am...
