I'm not one to leave poor reviews, however, people need to be aware of her business practices. I made an appt and was given a quote to hem/alter two bridesmaids dresses. I paid for half the estimate cost of each dress during the first fitting. After not hearing from her a few days past the quoted pick-up date, I called her. She said it was taking more time than she anticipated for the one dress. Not a problem. She called back in a couple days and told me that both dresses were ready. When I went in to pick them up and pay, she told me the price and I had to pick my jaw up off the counter. It was 60% more than what she initially quoted me the last half of the payment would be! In my shock, I questioned her about it. She stated it was only an estimate & it took much more time than she anticipated due to the layers on dress. While I have understanding that her time = money, I work hard for my money, too! We had two phone calls where she never gave me any indication that the estimate for the final payment was going to increase, let alone increase by 60%. Also, if she is as well seasoned of a seamstress as she is, why was the initial estimate so off?? That was her mistake, not mine. In the very least, she should have had the courtesy to tell me that the cost increased and what the final payment would be BEFORE I was just expected to pay it. I was furious. I paid the outrageous amount and left the store. I will never go back or recommend her business to anyone. For reference: each bridesmaids dress cost me $100 to buy from the retailer. The total price for alterations was close to $400!!!!! Sheer absurdity. If the wedding hadn't been in 2 weeks, I would have left the dresses there! The alterations were nicely done, but be forewarned about her business practices and "estimates" that are not accurate.

Our family was faced with a difficult challenge. Now, after almost three years of pandemic induced restrictions we determined it would be safe for us to visit an amusement park. My son is an immune-suppressed roller coaster fanatic and was ecstatic. We had just one more obstacle to overcome. He is currently on hemodialysis with a catheter in his chest (waiting for his third kidney transplant). The medical community had no suggestions to keep the catheter and its paraphernalia safe, especially from the various restraints and harnesses.

A friend recommended we contact Anju. We explained our situation to her. She was upfront and honest with us, admitting she had no direct experience with this sort of situation. She was also willing to meet with us and see what she could come up with. Our son is very sensitive to touch, especially from strangers. We weren't sure how he would tolerate having measurements taken.

We met with Anju and it was like the clouds parted! Our son was immediately comfortable with her gentle and caring manner. We chatted until she was confident she understood exactly what we were requesting. We parted with the expectation of waiting a week or two while she considered the design.

I was amazed at how quickly she got back to us. Even more amazed when I discovered she was calling from a fabric store to make sure the material had a design and color our son would like. I explained it would be under his tee-shirt but she was adamant it be something that would please him. A few days later we made our way to Hummelstown. His "Catheter Protector" fit perfectly and Mike was thrilled with the swirled rainbow print.

Yesterday we returned from our weekend at Six Flags Great Adventure. After 10 hours and more than 25 coaster rides our son reported no instances of discomfort. The protector worked flawlessly.

While our review is long overdue, I wanted to highly recommend Aanchal Apparel & Accessories for any of your alteration needs (I am posting this from my husband's account as I do not have one). I was a bride last year, and was directed to Anju's services by a bridal shop consultant for our wedding in May of 2023. Amidst her busy schedule she was more than willing to take on my wedding dress alterations and make time for my dress, and was very knowledgeable and professional in providing me different options on how I wanted to bustle my dress and ensure the length of my gown & train was appropriate for me to get around in. She took very good care of my dress while it was under her care and I felt confident about leaving it with her to be worked on. My gown fit like a glove, and I felt comfortable, fitted & secure in my dress the entire wedding day throughout hot weather in an outdoor service, walking around, dancing, hugging people, sitting to eat, etc. She tailored the dress so seamlessly that I felt it was customized perfectly for my body once Anju worked her magic. Every time I came into her shop, she always kindly greeted us in a timely manner, and it was an absolute pleasure to be in her company.
