Cash & Gold Pawn — Attraction in Huntsville

Do NOT invest time or money in this store. I went in with my S.O. to sell something. The owner was an older man with longer grey hair (slicked back), glasses and a slightly foreign accent - rather tall. The store is filthy & all of their merchandise is piled up and completely unorganized. He had three or four employees at the time of our visit, all of which were younger girls. He asked a bit about my major and what not while we waited, but spent an enormous amount of time inquiring about my S.O. and asking her to come back to work on his store's website for him at a later date. I found it strange that he was so curious about her (we are both young, as were most of his employees, again all female) and how he kept asking her to come back without me to help him. The first thing she said as soon as we left is that she felt preyed upon. He made her (and I as her S.O.) feel extremely uncomfortable and I do NOT recommend anybody visit this store, however I strongly advice (in particular) women to stray as far away from the owner as possible. Just this evening, we were at our local Walmart & he attempted to spark conversation with us - lingering for a couple of minutes while I was on the phone and my S.O., in discomfort, turned away as to not acknowledge his presence. I have gone through Max at Cash & Gold on and off for the last few years. Pretty much every single time I've dealt with him or one of his associates I've walked away feeling like I was treated with respect and not taken for a ride. Understand that it is a business and that to stay open they need to be profitable so go in with the expectation that they will give you a value for your item that might be lower than you expected but it's because they have to turn around and sell it to make any money off of it -- otherwise, what's the point? They've definitely helped me in a pinch and once I was late on my extension payment and Max was in his rights to seize the item but allowed me to make a late payment to extend the pawn on my item; this is something he didn't have to do. Brought in a $200 streaming webcam, used 1 time. Said they couldn’t take it because its “damaged” I asked how. The old lady referred to the smudges on the front, I said you could simply wipe it off. “I don’t want to work to make money” I guess you don’t want to work at all or make money at all. On top of that also, had some golf clubs, 3 of them being Taylor made that they also couldn’t take.
