Mosque Maryam — Attraction in Hyde Park Township

On Sunday April 9 about 12:30 PM googling for a mosque around, I was surprised once I found Maryam mosque near by, I headed to the location immediately, in the yard I saw a lot of people males and females very well and excellent dressed, they all smiley welcome me, I asked one young man where is the wadhu and prayer side he told just follow those people that time I saw a royal building which I expect one day will be a historic building. Once I approached the main door it was closed after the last one before me, I knocked the door one young man dressed in full suite just reminded me the presidential security guards, I asked him where is the wadhu and prayer side? He told me time is over and the mosque is closed, I asked him I want to pray Dhuhur prayer?!!! He said you can head to next mosque few blocks away on Stony Island. I am surprised it's just now Dhuhur Azan!!! So these people set their prayer before azan or what is going on. Ok forget let me go to nearby mosque which I visited just the previous night where the situation was very different the Imam welcome me and he showed me how to open the door and the secret code of the key box , the imam told me just in case there is no one here you can open the door by your self, where I think this the exact standard Islamic spirit; trust and welcome any time. But at Maryam mosque I saw a very markedly clean people, most of the males dressed in full suite, but most of the females dressed in white unique dresses with white head cover just looks like the Christian Sisters!!!!!. So my advice if someone googled for mosque and find this mosque don't waste your time by heading towards it but just head to Masjid Al Farooq at 8950 South Stony Island Ave...

I remember going to a Mosque in Colorado to watch the live streams of Farrakhan teaching and I was going to a Madrasah. Which was a Sunni Madrasah, the owner of the Madrasah warned me about him and how he’s mentally ill. After opening my eyes, I understood on how this mosque’s main audience target is towards so called black people. And that white people are made from Yakub who’s supposingly a scientist which was never specifically mentioned in the Quran nor the Bible. God made everyone and everything in his image, there is no one that can make someone or something as divine as God’s creation. Also, I’m no longer a Sunni I’m now a Christian since last year., It says in the Bible that nothing else should be added to the Book. In the Quran it also says to follow the Bible and the Torah. Jesus is the only way, the truth and life. If you go to a church (not a Catholic Church) people will welcome and greet you with open arms. You don’t have to look a certain way or dress a certain way. I have been a member of the NOI for nearly 40 years. It is important for those that are not aware to realize that while Mosque Maryam is a mosque, it is also the home to an organization that is politically and socially relevant and active in our society. That brings the possibility of backlash from those that disagree with our social commentary and philosophy. Because of our community efforts, we have been the target of threats and attacks from various sources, known and unknown, and thus prioritize security. While this may not be typical in the Islamic world, it is a must to keep our environment safe and free from discord. This is the reason the musalla may not be available like other musalla's you are familiar with and the reason you have to submit to a security check before entering.
