This Popeyes on 74 and Stony Island is horrible. It really doesn't deserve no stars for service and atmosphere. The first time I went last year, the food was good and the service. Fast forward the last two 2months, the service is horrible. I went one time thru the drive thru, 3 cars were in front of me, waited all the time to hear they don't have no more chicken 🤯😤🤦🏾♀️🤬 can you believe that, a chicken restaurant don't have chicken. I went back again after saying I'll never go back again. 🙄 I went through the drive thru again, my turn, no spicy chicken 😤 after paying for it. I told them to give me whatever they had, and she said ok. Comes back and says it's only breasts, then she said the spicy will be ready in 10 minutes and wait in the parking lot she'll bring it. So, I'm sitting their 30min later. I get out and have to walk around to the other side because the main side is boarded up. Inside everyone in their is super pissed at waiting so long. I walk up to the drive-through window (embarrassed as hell), but I had a major headache now, so I don't even care. The girl is gone who was supposed to bring my food because her and another employee got into it so the girl just left and nobody knew I was waiting all of that time on my food!! So, the other girl at the window serviced me and gave me my food. The fries were cold as hell. The chicken was good 👍🏿 and I paid for 2 strawberry cheese cakes but they didn't have any so I said just give me 2 apple pies, they didn't have that either 🤦🏾♀️🤬😤 what do you have? Oreo pies, I get that, and...
Read moreDO NOT EAT AT THIS POPEYES. EVER. This is the worst Popeye’s in the city of Chicago, and the employees will definitely mess your order up. I specifically asked for a cinnamon apple pie, only to get into my car, drive off and bite into a strawberry pie. I checked my receipt which noted a cinnamon apple pie. I took it back, and the cashier said, “So, do you want a strawberry pie instead?” Mind you, I had just handed her the strawberry pie I didn’t want and explained I wanted a cinnamon apple pie and then asked for a cinnamon apple pie while explicitly saying, “I don’t want a strawberry pie.”
I had asked for two legs and one thigh. The cashier asked, “All dark?” I said, “Yes.” I didn’t check the box until I got home, and it’s a breast which I do not want, a thigh and a leg. I think there is something fundamentally wrong with the management and employees. No one is doing quality check. It’s like the process is, “See chicken. Put chicken in box. See pie. Put pie in box.” They’re not reading tickets. They’re just putting things in bags and boxes without checking the order for accuracy.
I hadn’t been to this Popeye’s in over a year, and it is because no matter how simple the order, they will mess it up. They have given me strawberry pies every single time I’ve asked for cinnamon, and I’ve had to either go back or get back in line. On top of this, they rarely have spicy chicken, and the wait times are ridiculous. This place has poor management. Do not eat here. They should replace the management. My experience happened on the date of...
Read moreHot chicken. Strain and non greasy chicken. Can get very busy during peak time with spicy being there number one seller. Nice size parking lot with a single drive thru line. I buy bags of ice all the time for 1.29. Great red beans. The pricing are more comparable to other restaurants with a distinguishing taste. It can be a lil slow at times however they're only able to drop so much chicken in each cooking station. Some of the customers are always in a hurry and expect great nonprecooked food to be available in under 2 minutes (metaphorical speaking) during rush peak times and special Tuesday. Some of the obviously lower rating customers only rate when not to there liking and not when the service quality is good or great. I challenge consumers to update there ratings. Let others know that it has or hasn't improved your next time around. Ms Green is a decent manager there who wears many hats. She is a human being first! Understand that her staff member, work station, and EVERYONE is moving in uniform. It is hard to keep your morals up while consumers demoralized them for things that might be out of their control during fast times. I challenge you to continue smiling 6 hours straight regardless of other negative vibes. If we're professional then I'm sure their replies will sound professional with accommodating empathy of ur orders. This is my observation of this behavior which I am there 2/3 times a week. UBER/LYFT...
