A.P. Deli — Restaurant in Hyde Park Township

I still enjoy a good A.P corned beef from time to time but honestly they have definitely changed over the years as with almost everything else. The quality of the meat has gone down to me and is more fatty and chintzy. I remember it being a real treat in the late 90s and early 2000's it was so meaty and tasty ( you could make 2 or 3 sandwiches from 1. Now I feel they are somewhat overpriced and not at all the same value that you used to get. Now you are guaranteed to recieve service with an attitude and a pricey reciept. Just being honest my last experience was a bit underwhelming. My sandwich was not prepared with any of the extra ingredients I requested and paid for (cheese and tomatoes) it was on the reciept and it wasn't crowded only one other customer. The sandwich was remade but not my fries ....... even after me waiting patiently an additional 10 minutes for the correction, furthermore, nothing was offered be it a complimentary drink not even an apology. Update : I returned today after a few months because I had a taste for a AP corned beef and I was totally satisfied with the meal, it was prepared to order and DELICIOUS !!! The service was another story the cashier was pleasant and courteous however the lady handing out orders was rude and off putting, 4 customers before me commented on her behavior prior to my ordering while standing outside in line. When she gave me my order and walked away but it was only the sandwich when I ordered a combo, my fries were not in the bag and I also asked about my drink . She said aggressively "put it back" referring to my bag and threw the fries in there and when I asked for ketchup she had such an attitude that another lady finished taking care of me. I don’t know the dude name that insulted me after spending 54 dollars by stating I was trying to get something for free because inventory was not available. This person had the audacity to suggest I wait until the girl came back from the store with the pops. And he argued with me because I gave him a professional solution to NOT HAVING WHAT ORDERED INSTOCK! Solution 1) exchange the 2 Pepsi pops 1.25+1.25= 2.50 for the cookies 2.50 even exchange

Solution 2 refund me all of my money because you don’t have what I ordered available.

Solution 3) refund me the 2.50 for the sodas you DONT HAVE!

You know he gonna tell me that I had to take a Mountain Dew because that’s all ap had? Then he went on to try to insult me by saying I wouldn’t do that to white peoples and it always takes a black person. …. Well he’s right it always take a person like him to destroy someone else’s business. Any one of my solutions would have worked for a professional business EMPLOYEE with 2 being the last resort. Also the food was so salty it was a shame. I really wish y’all would send in cat fish customers to see how theses people are treating good customers. Really I was trying to get over for 26 cents was my last question. I had to pray before I left the establishment because I don’t like leaving bad energy anywhere.

I went to this location yesterday 4/16/14 and it will be my last! I usually don't patronize this place simply because they OVERPRICE... So I already knew better than to be at this terrible looking and feeling "establishment" from the start. After walking into what looks like a closed shop, an elderly woman reluctantly and dismissively takes my order. Along the lines of hurry up, what do ya want!? Now feeling rushed and disrespected, I clearly ask for a 2 Big Beef's on Rye with 2 small bags of chips, with no hot peppers PLEASE... I stressed the please because when interacting with other human beings they sometimes like to be treated with respect, also to highlight the common decency that was missing from our exchange. I had to repeat my order 3 MORE TIMES, despite her scribbling every other word of my it! But the best part of my exchange was watching the two "men" running the cutting blade casually talking as they put together the WRONG ORDER!!! What they felt I should get after paying my money was 2 Big Beef's on white bread, oh and the chips that I spent the last 5 minutes trying to order, then GOT CHARGED FOR don't even come with the sandwich, there is an extra price for that... This place is a $h!thole, period... There are so many other places that respect there customers at least as paying patrons of their business, DO NOT COME HERE!!! In a way I can actually say thank-you for this experience, because I learned exactly where NOT to go, or allow anyone I care about to go to for a dam 10 dollar sandwich! You can...
