Vegan Now 2 Go — Restaurant in Hyde Park Township

Only use cash, the antiquated Mom and Pop cash handling system is bad or they are consciously practicing thievery. Paid with a credit card(BAD IDEA), the original charge for 2 people was a pricey $43.--, there was an increase in the charges of $8.--, by the time I made it home on the bus. I was not going to turn around and go back to argue fuss and fight over $8.--(and some change), I even placed a $5.00 tip in the tip jar, just to be ripped off for $8.00 more!! I phoned and the next day successfully made contact with someone and was merely told to "come back in" and they would take care of it. I will never give them my patronage again. I was trying to be supportive of small local minority businesses, only to relive the known lesson that, no good deed goes unpunished! The food was not bad, over priced, as most Vegan food is, but it tasted fine, the portions were scant at best, especially for the prices. I look at it as an $8.-- lesson re-instilled. I'm very disappointed, I thought I had found a spot near a friends house to become a regular customer. They've lost a customer that may have willingly spent thousands of dollars over a life time, for $8.00 measly dollars. Now I know why so many small businesses fail, poor accounting, poor equipment and or poor employees? I shouldn't be expected to return to a location via public transportation to deal with their inept accounting practices. I do not recommend this...

I’d go back in a heart beat. I initially went because the signage caught my eye.

As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by the man behind the counter. The signage was clear and the hot bar looked amazing.

I got food from the hot bar, all but 2 items, it’s sold by the pound. They also have natural juices as well. I spent about $50 on hot bar and 3 juices. Expensive but health is wealth in my eyes I’d rather pay on the front end than on the back in with life.

The actual food taste great. I got the candied yams, spaghetti, cabbage, black eyed peas, and spaghetti. The yams taste like grandma made them.

Food taste/quality and service were on point. If I didn’t have to leave I woulda sat down and ate my food. I didn’t feel like I was on 75th when...

Absolutely amazing. I am not a paid reviewer. I am very picky. This is a great souL food spot slash regular vegan options!!!! The hot bar was surprisingly good!!!

The jerk item was the best!!

Macaroni was ok, not really creamy maybe 8/10.

Greens were basic greens, not mixed 8.3/10.

Sweet potatoes were light in fLavor, but tasted great 9.3/10!!!

Mostaccioli tasted exactly like regular meaty kind. Very light and not greasy or too saucy 9/10.

My first time here. I will be Back!!!
