Stanley Vacation Rentals — Hotel in Stanley

We were looking forward to staying in Apt 4, Valley View but were very disappointed. The inside of the refrigerator was very warm and it took over 24 hours at the highest setting to get it to cool down to even close to the correct setting. The kitchen was poorly stocked; no oils, spices, etc and only a minimal amount of pots, pans, cutting boards, etc. The stove and the fridge were old and there was very little counter space. The bathroom was small with a make-up area/sinks in the hall leading to it. The bedroom and bed were fine but it could have used an extra night stand for electronics, eye drops, etc. There was also a large walk-in closet that was overkill but could be made more useful with the addition of a chest with drawers to put clothes in or at least a couple of stands for storing/accessing luggage. Finally, the walls transmitted sound so TV, loud talking, kids crying/shrieking etc were clearly heard. |On the plus side the view of the valley was very nice and there were no lights on at night so stargazing was amazing. We enjoyed everything about this place: the clean, spacious room; comfortable, queen beds; the handy kitchenette; the reasonable price; and the views of nature. The deck was a fun place to meet other travelers and relax with a beer. We walked across the street and enjoyed many of the close-by restaurants. For $149/night in July 2021, it was a great deal! ||||We were in room #3 (Heritage), and I found this place a month prior to our stay. Everything else was booked up in town. Stanley Vacation Rentals had a lodging opening for 2 nights between existing reservations. I made my non-refundable reservation via email with the owner.||||Note, there is no pool or free breakfast, but rooms have a coffee maker, good TV, kitchen table, fridge, microwave, and couch. We easily borrowed beach towels from the management to use at lakes. (Bath towels are in the room.) The scenic view from the deck is of the peaceful meadow and hills, not the mountains. We stayed in #4 which has a single bedroom, bath, living room, dining area and kitchen. The bed was comfortable as well as the rest of the place. The owners and staff were very pleasant and helpful. ||While sitting on the front porch we had the pleasure of seeing elk, a fox & a badger came by while we were eating.
