My husband and I went bowling with our 3 year old, 2 year old, my sister and my brother-in-law. We just moved to the area and thought this would be a great middle ground for us to meet. They made us pay up front, which is not the norm that we’ve experienced. We paid for 2 games.
The website states kids can bowl for free but the link they want you to click goes to an error page, so we called to check, and were told that was correct with no other instructions. When we arrived they tried to charge us for the kids and when we mentioned how we called beforehand, they changed their tune and said we had to register on an app. Which is fine, and we did so. We have our own balls and shoes so we only had to pay for the games for my husband and I, and shoes for the kids. They charge $4 a game, which is pretty decent.
It’s nicely updated and could potentially be a great place to spend time as we love to bowl. Sadly, the bowling alley reeks of smoke, and their website does not mention that smoking is allowed anywhere. We asked an employee and they said it’s only a smoke-free alley on the weekends before 5:00pm. Unfortunately, due to the smell of smoke (and employees smoking while working), our kiddos getting too hot and crabby, and an employee loudly speaking using profanities; we decided it was time to go after one game.
My sister and brother-in-law went to the counter before us and they were refunded for their 2nd game they payed for. When we went to the counter, we were told they don’t do refunds. And because our kids bowled they couldn’t refund us. We weren’t asking for a refund on kids shoe rentals, just a refund on the adult fee for the 2nd game, since we didn’t bowl it. I know it’s only $8 since we had our own shoes, but it’s the principal that they pick and choose who they refund.
They seem to be trying to encourage a family friendly bowling alley, however if you choose to bowl with your kids and have to leave before using all the games you paid for, you won’t be refunded. The employees will smoke in front of your children and they won’t be clear on their policies. It feels like the “family friendly” or “kids bowl free” stuff is just a gimmick to get you in because it couldn’t be further from the truth.
Again, it’s nicely updated and decently priced, but they need to seriously reconsider who they’re trying to market to. We’ll likely be driving a little further from now on to ensure a better experience for our littles and more...
Read moreMy wife set up to have my daughters third birthday party here and had called ahead of time. When we arrived at the time we had set up there was only one table out for us when that wasn’t even enough space to seat all of the children as guests at the party much less any adults. They did bring us down one more table after I inquired but we had to go find the chairs ourselves. My wife had done the reservation over the phone and at the time it was set up no mention was made by the employees that no outside food or drink is allowed inside. Would have been nice to know before we spent extra time and money to go buy enough pizza for a birthday party and then was told we had to take it back to the car and buy theirs. The staff was very rude as far as I’m concerned and never once came down to check on us to make sure things were set up right or going ok. The owner did later apologize to my wife after the fact that we were never told the rules about bringing in food. Guess I’ll be eating pizza for the next two days now. Also annoying is the fact that if parties are supposed to be held at a strict two hour time frame with a reservation being made ahead of time and then the staff their tells you 40 minutes after you get there to take your food back to the parking lot and buy theirs??? So an over an hour of our allowed two hours was taken up just to get seated and have something for our party guests to eat. The real icing on the cake though I’d say was the attitude of the staff here. If I was the owner and someone had made a party reservation at my business I might at least greet them when they got there or show them to their table. It was like pulling teeth to get any service at all the entire time we were there. It’s funny to me to how they had such an issue with us having brought in food but they seemed fine that we used our own cups and paper plates from outside that we paid for as opposed to the ones that were supposed to be free with the party reservation. I really never never expected such horrible service at a small local place, my experience here was awful enough that not only would I never step foot in there again for another party, I’d never go there again period. They treat enough families in this fashion and eventually it will hurt their profits which is likely what these folks care about. They only get one star for service because it’s not possible to give...
Read moreWe went here recently for a work event. The room they had us in was not set up when we arrived at the scheduled time. The room itself was dirty with very large, moldy, water stains on the ceiling with a mop bucket collecting water that was dripping from it. Our dinner was supposed to be ready at 6 pm, and was not, due to it still being frozen at 6 pm. We called ahead twice prior that day to verify everything was still on schedule and was assured both times that it was. The bartender brought out chips in a large bowl of chips we were all supposed to share, and was eating them himself as he was carrying them into us. While waiting on our dinner to defrost, I went to the snack bar to order food where NO GLOVES were worn by the staff. I watched one girl grab cheese and other food items without gloves on and then wipe her hands on her butt. Pretty disgusting and against MANY health code violations I'm sure. Never again...
