My wife and I have been coming to Fuji Sushi since we first learned of it. At the time, it was one of the few places to get above average sushi, all you can eat, and at a great price.
Recently, we decided to stop in and grab some Sushi to go. I had placed my order from a printed menu that they have at the counter. The menu had some of the prices changed with hand-written numbers. So, I was fairly confident the menu reflected current prices. I didn't order anything from the menu that had hand-written corrections.
However, after my order was prepared, and rung up, it was obvious that they had overcharged me. I asked about the prices, and I was told that the prices had gone up $1 for each item. When I complained, I was told that the prices were updated on the website 3 months ago. Really? In addition to the printed menu I am holding in my hand, I need to get out my smartphone and verify them against their website?
I was then shown a little tiny yellow sign, taped to the counter, which was conveniently hidden under some other menus, that carry-out was $1 more. I was also told that the menus were printed 6 years ago, and they were trying to use them up. I get that, but nobody likes to be confused about the price they are paying, and expect surprises when the bill comes. On top of that, the owner walked away, angry, and didn't even offer an apology.
Between my wife and I, or business meetings I often held there with clients, I've probably been there at least 60 to 70+ times since they opened. But, now, fortunately, there are now many other options in the area.
I am not planning on being back...
Read moreI used to like this restaurant but I had the most horrible experience yesterday and will never go back again. I ordered dinner for my husband and I. When my husband got home, they had left my entree out of the order. The restaurant didn't call to let me know, or take it off my credit card, so I called them. The person on the phone said, yes, we left it out. My husband went back and picked it up. When I finally got it, the dish was inedible. It tasted like the chef dumped a shaker full of salt on it. I called to let them know and request that they refund it. The same person, told me that unless I brought it back they would not refund me because, how could they know I didn't eat it. Mind you, I probably called him back within 15 minutes of my husband being there. I asked to speak to the owner or manager and the man on the phone said I couldn't because the owner is Chinese and doesn't speak English. He said I could text a picture of the entree, which I did. When I called back to follow up, he said, he didn't get it. I was hopping mad at this point. I was just blown away, that after all the trouble I went to get my meal, due to their own mistakes, they would think I'm trying to get some free tofu and noodles. I ended up taking back the whole order except the couple of apps my husband had already eaten. DO NOT GO TO THIS RESTAURANT UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE TREATED POORLY AND BE TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF.    Read moreI wish I could give this place 5 stars because the service was wonderful and the food tasted amazing. I even said out loud while eating, âthis is the best sushi Iâve ever had.â We came here to celebrate my best friendâs birthday â it was me, my best friend, her fiancĂ©, and my fiancĂ©. The staff was attentive, the atmosphere was great, and everything about the experience in the moment felt perfect.
Unfortunately, about 12 hours after eating, things took a turn. I became incredibly sick with food poisoning â vomiting and other symptoms that lasted through the night. At first I didnât connect it to the restaurant because the food had been so good, but the next morning I learned that both my best friend and her fiancĂ© had the same reaction. The only one who didnât get sick was my fiancĂ©, who doesnât like sushi and only had chicken fried rice.
This was the worst food poisoning Iâve ever experienced. It was so intense it felt like it would never end. While I appreciate the service and how delicious everything was, I canât overlook what happened afterward. For that reason, I have to...
