I've been taking my dogs to Indian Trail Animal Hospital for around 5 years. We saw Dr. Tabony, and everything was great until one of my dogs was put on Clomicalm in October 2016. The manufacturer is very inconsistent. When an order is placed it can take 2 days to 2 weeks to get here, so I never know when to order it for it to be here on time. Multiple staff members have assured me they will keep a bottle in stock to avoid that issue. Since October it has been in stock one time because a former employee, Sam, who was a vet tech saw it through for me even though it was not her job. Every time I place a refill I have to call the vet multiple times. They never have it in stock as promised, and most of the time they don't even place the order the first time I call. I even pay upfront 99% of the time. I placed an order for both my dogs meds on Monday. 2 hrs later I got a text that Lucy's was ready. As of this morning I still had no pickup confirmation for Grits. I spoke to the same employee, Kim, who took the order. She said she did not know if it was there. I explained the situation again, and voiced my disappointment for what felt like the millionth time. I also asked her to cancel an upcoming appointment for Grits because I am switching vets. When I asked her to cancel the appointment she hung up on me. That was the final straw. When we first started going to Indian Trail everything was great. The lack of professionalism has gotten ridiculous. If they can't be bothered stock a prescription when they keep promising it I don't think I can trust them in a life and death situation. I've gone through this for 9 months, and nothing has changed despite all the empty promises. Indian Trail has lost two patients because of it. Maybe they've grown too fast and can't keep up. Maybe they just don't care. Either way, my dogs will not be going back. I've found a smaller vet clinic that has assured me they will keep his medication in stock, so we'll see how it goes.
I also found out they they are price gouging. They charge me $80 for one of my dogs medications. I looked online last night and can get it for $58 on Allivet and $56 on PetCareRx. I didn't do my research, and it came back to bite me. Make sure you price check before you buy...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe adopted a dog last April and this was the vet we chose to take him to. Within the first month that we had him, we made an appointment to have him examined because we were unsure of his history. He was already on flea and tick medication but they suggested a different kind, Credelio. Not long after we adopted him he started having seizures. The seizures started out once every couple of months but then began to get more frequent. We took him back to the vet because we were concerned. They basically said it was canine epilepsy and said that the frequency wasn't anything to worry about. They suggested acupuncture as a potential treatment but couldn't guarantee it would help. The seizures progressed to being about once a month. We took him back yet again out of concern. It is awful to watch your dog seize and not be able to do anything. The original vet that we wanted to see was out of the office so we decided to take him somewhere else for a second opinion. After the second vet examined him, he immediately said that the Credelio that Indian Trail Animal Hospital put our dog on could be causing the seizures. In fact, it says it right on the box. I felt horrible because I didn't read the box, trusting the original vet's recommendation. It is their job to know what medications affect animals and to know what's best for your animal based on their medical history. The second vet recommended taking him off Credelio immediately and using a topical flea and tick medication. He said if the seizures continued and the frequency increased we would have to probably resort to medication. It has been over 2 months since we took our dog off of the Credelio medication and he has had not one seizure. I wanted to wait a while before writing this review just to be sure about the seizures. Please, do your research when you are taking your animal to a vet. I know others have used Indian Trail Animal Hospital and have had a good experience. Us,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIf I could rate the veterinarians individually, the majority would get 5 stars, BUT my experience with Dr.Z was so bad, I am giving a one star review solely on my interactions with her and the office manager. They are not interested in a owner-provider relationship, and I will never take my 16 year old lab back to this facility. I am sure their reaponse will be something like...we are sorry YOU FEEL....Long story short my 16 1/2! Yr ild dog relies on Carprofen for mobility due to her arthritis. I do understand ideally we would monitor her liver and kidneys while on this medication. However, our last vet was not able to draw blood from her leg or neck, and we decided together that because of her age, we would continue giving her carprofen to maintain her quality of life, largely her mobility. Dr.Z was not able to draw blood from my 16 yr old lab and said she was not comfortable giving her Carprofen. She offered a substandard medication thst takes weeks to take effect, and also the Librella shot, which according to other veterinarians would be a last resort due to her developing seizures. I told Dr. Z about the seizures, and also how transporting my girl every 4 weeks would be detrimental.....She said she would be fine. I was dumbfounded. I immediately called her previous vet after this vet who gave us the carprofen. We will be returning tonher previous vet from here out. The only reason we changed was to find a vet closer to our house. Like I said, we had a great experience with the other vets during the treat ment of our other dog who had cancer, but Dr.Z and the office manager have ruined our...
