I have never given a negative restaurant review but after tonight’s experience I felt it necessary. I ordered online and was told my food would be ready 20 mins later and had opted for curbside pickup, the website said to call when I arrived so I did that aprox 30mins later only to find out that they had actually taken the phone off the hook and were not accepting phone calls(bad sign #1). Ok that’s fine I’ll go inside no biggie. Upon entering the restaurant I am greeted by another customer who says he’s been waiting in the restaurant for 40 mins for his order that was placed ahead of time and should have been ready upon his arrival (bad sign #2). I went to the counter and was immediately accosted by what I found out was the manager on duty (bad sign #3). I don’t use that word lightly either. i work in customer service and would never treat a customer let alone another person they was she treated me. I was simply asking for the food that I had already paid for and had also informed her that her phone was not working (maybe they didn’t know) as I had requested curbside pickup and could not reach them. “You don’t go to a bank as ask them why it’s taking so long!” Well no mam I was simply asking if the food I ordered and was told would be ready 20 mins ago was ready. Another 15 mins go by and finally I am told the food is ready then basically thrown the food. I get home,my family and I sit down at the table only to find out not only is every dish is ICE COLD, Like not warm from the trip home which is less than 10 mins away but ICE COLD like it had been prepared and then just left to sit and get cold as I waited, but made wrong AND items are missing. I understand mistakes happen but I mean come on. So I try to call the restaurant 🤦🏻♀️ phone is still off of the hook. I drove back to the restaurant and told the same manager what had happened only to have someone else come out from the kitchen saying I made that food and I made it right. I’m sorry but no you didn’t. I then pull up the order on my phone and show them what I am talking about and also point out what items I am missing. another 10-15 mins of back and forth before I finally just ask for a refund so I can get home and feed my family. I still cannot believe how utterly awful I was treated by the staff of the Indian Trail location and most certainly will not be back! Everyone has off days but that’s no excuse for poor...
Read moreWe went to Sabor in Indian Trail today.
Wanted to get a quick bite to eat, indian trail Honda was working on my car down the road. We haven’t had Spanish food in a while.
Wow! I have to say the nachos, empanadas, smothered fries (my NJ vernacular) truly excellent! Quite honestly we did the fries, darn I should’ve taken a picture of the menu, with the steak. It was the top left of the menu. In any case excellent excellent excellent and I would definitely get it again. I’m not a fan of french fries as everybody knows quite well, lol! But the combination of ingredients and flavors in this dish? Great Latin comfort food!
The Bowl was OK. NOT bad by any means, I appreciated each one of the dishes, on their own - steak and chicken - the ingredients were fresh but I like the other mix of ingredients better.
FYI I would still get a bowl but when I wanted a rice/comfort component. The bowl was a little plain when compared to the combination of ingredients in the other dishes. Again, NOT bad. Just personal preference.
Not to take away from the freshness or the portions - because as you can see by the pictures - the portions are definitely generous!!
We got there sort of early, before 11:30 AM.
I looked around and thought - wow it’s kind of quiet. Then, the lunch rush came in!
We highly recommend this location for the portions, the quality of the ingredients, best of all? What an amazing staff.
Just extremely professional, gracious, really honest about their recommendations when you ask what they preferred.
Not sure if anybody’s gone to this Sabor, and I can’t speak to any other location, but….we will absolutely be back to this one.
The nachos and empanadas were our favorite! total bill with tip was $45. Yes, we had left overs 😁 we wanted to try a few things.
The last thing I’ll say, I would absolutely get the empanadas again. I think our favorite was the chorizo empanada and I loved the steak chunks in the fries.
I would love to know what Mexican restaurants the group recommends and why, we’re always looking for a good treat. This was a quick easy lunch and it was absolutely worth it but open to hearing what other recommendations...
Read moreI have enjoyed going to Sabor every few weeks, I come back for the food, unfortunately not the hospitality. My last visit about a week ago, went there for late lunch, around 2:30pm. I arrived and there was only 1 patron sitting down at a table eating her lunch. I approached the counter and the young lady was busy on her cell phone, looked at me and because I was looking up at the menu board didn't say hello, can I help you, welcome, take your time etc ... Nothing... When I was finally ready to order she took it but no sign of hospitality at all. She was not rude but I guess my point is that I felt I was not welcomed as a paying customer. After ordering, I tried to pick a table, went around the entire dinning room and all tables were dirty, not filthy either but needed a quick wipe down, meanwhile the young lady on the counter still busy with her cell. Food took longer than expected, I know food here is fresh and I expect to wait because of it, but the place was dead... The lunch rush was over, it was only two customers in the dinning room. Once I received my food I enjoyed it, like always pretty tasty. I will of course come back, but wanted to give feedback so customer service improves, specially when I go to a Latin inspired restaurant, our culture is vibrant and passionate, we are happy people that believe in taking care of those who come and spend their hard earned money on our...
