Zaxbys Chicken Fingers & Buffalo Wings — Restaurant in Indian Trail

i’d like to start this review off by saying I go to the Zaxbys once or twice a week, and I have severe food allergies if I eat anything with dairy in it, I go to anaphylactic shock I go in last night when I got off of work around 9:20 and made my order of eight boneless wings meal and then five minutes later they proceed to tell me they are out of boneless wings. I asked for a refund they said that they wouldn’t be able to refund me until the morning which doesn’t make sense to me so I said just give me the traditional because they offered me traditional instead I explained to them I have food allergies and I’m can’t eat a lot of things on the menu that’s why I ordered the boneless wings. Then they proceeded to tell me it’s gonna be another wait and when I finally got my order to check on it, they ended up giving me boneless wings instead of traditional wings, which means to me that they were just being lazy and didn’t wanna cook fresh boneless wings, which I thought was funny considering I used to work at Zaxbys for three years and not one time we ran out of boneless wings. I’m very disappointed with that experience at this location. It seemed like the staff were too busy, focusing on closing the restaurant down early instead of doing their job. As someone who worked at this location, please, for the love of god, do not go here. The manager of this store is beyond abusive of his employees and doesn't seem to think anything of it, and on top of that, doesn't do a good job as a manager, constantly passing off his responsibilities to everyone else so he can sit in his office comfortably for as long as possible, and then getting upset when he comes out to find that what he was supposed to do himself wasn't done the way he wanted (even though he didn't say how he wanted it done). Anyone who regularly goes to this location has likely noticed that the staff seems to change fairly often - these people are not being fired, they are quitting because working with the general manager is a nightmare of bad hours, exhaustive physical labor (which is not explained when you are hired in the slightest, I don't mean having to work 7 hours with no break, I mean having minimal wage staff have to stay inside the freezer for up to 45 minutes moving over a thousand pounds of product that they literally have to climb over to get to - and let me be clear, this is NOT outlined in the duties of the job when you are hired, and having worked at several other fast food locations, this is the only time I haven't seen the manager be the one to do things like this), and verbal abuse. If you want chicken, go to the bojangles or the KFC on this same street, do not give this man...

Wanted to give a shout out to this location. We had a major storm come through, and when it was over, we decided to grab some food as our local grocery store was closed. First off, the young man that runs the register was extremely helpful and friendly. We have been here a few times and he's always a nice and helpful employee. So, in the middle of eating.. Boom. Power goes out. We were the only ones inside eating. We also had a to-go order working while we were eating. I went to the manager and asked if I should come back the next day for a refund. Surprisingly it was already done. I did misunderstand her and thought we had to leave. She was so sweet. Said for us to stay and finish our meal. She said "You were already here. If you can see, you can eat".. made me giggle. We finished our meal, got our to-go food and went to leave. She was talking to what I assume was a DoorDash driver. She was such a nice lady to everyone. She had the staff sit at a table to wait for further instructions. We got up to leave, and she walked us to the door, told us to have a great night and to be safe. She definitely handled the situation with class and professionalism.
