MĂyaxwen, Just finished a tour of the Coachella Valley History Museum we took our A'Avutem( Elders) and Cultural Committee to help us get some insight and Inspiration on our New Museum/ Cultural Center we are looking to design and build down on the Reservation. Maureen and Lidya where the best very very help and welcoming They got a great Cahuilla exhibit with Photos a photo of My Great Great Grandfather Fig Tree John and my Wife's Great Grandma Ruby Modesto. A very nice collection of Cahuilla baskets. There school "Indio oldest "1909 and Dr Smilly House are very well presented bit of history. It was an over excellent experience I highly recommend you stop by and take a look.

We are staying at an RV park in Indio and were looking for things to do. The museum came up so we went over. The museum is only open Fridays thru Mondays so check to see if you decide to go. Admission for seniors was $6 per person which was reasonable. We had a docent available to show us the museum and she did a great job. They cover agriculture and the railroad from the beginnings. The number one crop here is dates followed by table grapes. A lot of displays inluding a 1909 schoolhouse which is interesting to see. They raise dates here so they have a date museum as well as a blaksmith shop and even a water tower.

If you have not visited this museum featuring the history of the Coachella Valley take some time to discover it. It’s a little off the main access routes, but it’s well worth your time to find. You will enjoy the presentations on the history of the date industry, the Salton Sea, and early human settlement in the region. Well-informed docents make a pleasant experience as you pass through all the displays of historic significance. Plan for an hour and a half to two hours. You could spend much more time. There is ample parking.

I Run a Dj Business and it was my first time here Djn at this venue. The staff was so nice and professional but the venue is outdated on the electrical. I had the electricity breaker turn off twice on me while trying to do Quinceañera presentations.I had to shut off half of my Dj equipment in order to work with out popping breakers. Equipment that I provided was 2 15 inch speakers ,One 18 inch subwoofer, 2 Led Scanners, 6 Led Par lights, One Laptop, One Controller, External small Mixer, One Wireless Microphone. Doors need to open at least 2 hours before vendors setting up. We ended up starting later because of it. I wouldn’t recomendable this place for special events that would need big Dj systems or Live Bands unless they only take really minimal equipment for example just 2 small speakers and 2 Dj lights.Other than that the place is really beautiful and full of...

No matter if you live here or if your like me just visiting for a few months! You should know the history of this place. I will tell you this much. It's a rich history! Not rich like the spoiled privileged over on the golf course rich! Like dreamed worked done it no matter what rich! It'll explain date palms. Great story! Knew some of the Salton Sea story. Found out I didn't know it all! How about the native folks! Yep! More than casinos! Great story! Look yes you if your lazy read stuff on your phone screen like your doing now! Or before we lose more of it. You can get a guided tour from some one who knows and enjoys what they are doing! Get your butt up and go see the place!...
