Update: So someone did contact me about my review and stated they only see one transaction that was charged to me. She said she can't see my account, so she basically meant she doesn't know exactly what I'm saying is true. She emailed me one transaction that was charged to me, for the room. But she cannot find any other charge. How do I know she's saying the truth? I'm only going off on what I can actually see on my account. 2 transactions. The actual amount charged $146.89 and an additional $109.60. 2 transactions, for the same day, with the same name, Rodeway Inn in Indio. Again be weary an check your bank account. I'm waiting on both charges to clear, as per my bank rep to file a dispute on the charge.
So I'm coming back 2 days later to let everyone know about an extra charge on my card for $109. I called and spoke to the same lady and she tried to be cute about it that she didn't charge anything but the room. LIES. Luckily my bank will investigate and reimburse me. DO NOT TRUST THIS HOTEL! Double check your bank account!!! Front desk India lady, was actually rude and not welcoming at all. She asked for $100 CASH deposit incase anything was to break or if you smoked in the room. Also She was specific about returning both key cards, or we would be charged. Also pets are allowed fyi. It's posted in the front desk window. When we checked out, the same lady, asked if we cleaned up after ourselves... ? As if she was trying to keep our $100 deposit. We said why should we clean? She didn't reply. And we said we didn't make our beds if that's what you mean. She gave it back and that was it. The room we stayed in is literally like a mini apt. Living room with ac unit, upon entering with full size kitchen. Stove microwave coffee pot and dishes pot and pans etc... we didn't use any. Seperate bathroom and seperate bedroom with 2 queen, TV and ac unit. All ac's were turned off. It was hot and muggy. Took until 2am(4 hrs) for the area to feel cool. Place is clean and everything in place. So for $100 deposit and wanting it back, we made sure, with 5 kids that they didn't touch anything. We did love the parallel park literally right infront of our door, since we have a Ford transit 15 passenger van. Everything ok but would just be extra weary about the deposit and alot of extras in the room, that with kids, it makes it hard to be sure they don't get into anything. Price was good. But would definitelynot stay here...
Read moreI booked a two-night stay at the Roadway Inn through Priceline’s “Express Deal,” where you get a discounted rate but don’t know the hotel name until after booking. The total was $139, which seemed reasonable, especially since breakfast was included.
Unfortunately, the experience went downhill fast. The reservation was under an old name from a previous Priceline account, while my legal ID shows my updated name. I called ahead to confirm, and when we arrived around 11:40 PM, the front desk refused to check me in because the names didn’t match. I tried showing my ID and the reservation on my phone through the window, but they kept telling me to call Priceline—while Priceline told me to talk to the hotel. It turned into a frustrating back-and-forth. I finally had to show my birth certificate (saved on my phone) to prove the name change. Only then did they check me in—though not without telling me I “needed to update it at the DMV,” which felt unnecessary and condescending.
Once in the room, we noticed there were only three pillows for a two-bed room. When I asked for more, I was told there “should be enough already”—but there weren’t.
The next morning’s “continental breakfast” was bare minimum: prepackaged pastries, a bagel, toast, oatmeal, a pancake machine with syrup, milk, and orange juice. No eggs, no protein, and nothing warm except the coffee and machine pancakes. Definitely not what you’d expect from even a basic motel breakfast.
Later that day, we returned to find our dirty towels still in the room. When I asked the front desk for clean ones, I was told I should have left the used towels outside earlier for housekeeping, and since I hadn’t, they wouldn’t give me new ones. No one had told me this policy. Thankfully, I ran into a kind housekeeper who helped me after I explained the situation.
Although the exterior of the motel looked fine and relatively well-kept, it still didn’t feel safe. At night we even heard what sounded like gunshots nearby, and the overall vibe felt sketchy and uncomfortable.
In the end, while it’s technically a place to sleep, the poor communication, check-in hassle, underwhelming amenities, and uneasy feeling made this a stressful stay. I wouldn’t stay here again and don’t recommend it unless you have no...
Read moreWhen we arrived to check in, the front desk was doing a shift change. The blonde women was very loud and the brunette women helping us couldn’t hear us because the blonde lady was on the phone. The brunette women who checked us is was very pleasant. When we received our room key to 133 the lights were confusing to turn on. Some light switches work and some didn’t. I had to put one light switch to the off switch position for the lamp to work next to the bed. The bed near the restroom has a switch that seemed broken. When my husband turned on the switch, the lights flickered. I jokingly said his side was haunted. He switched the lights to off so we wouldn’t have a light show all night long. When I went to turn on the TV, the remote did not work. It lit up. But nothing was happening. I turned the TV on by selecting the buttons on the side. The TV was set to PC so all we had was a blue screen. After a few tries at the buttons I figured out how to change the input. If we wanted to watch TV we had to walk up to the television and change it from the side buttons. The beds were very comfortable. The bathroom was nice but my husband couldn’t figure out the shower temperature so he needed up taking a cold shower. The breakfast was pretty good. The waffle machine was not working correctly. No waffle batter was coming out so the blonde lady and another staff member teamed up and fixed it. I had a waffle, orange juice and a activia yogurt. My husband had coffee and some pastries. The breakfast selections were very nice. When in our room, we tried closing the curtain on the right side near the TV for privacy and my husband pulled the handle to close the curtain… there was no stopper and he ended up taking half the curtain off the window. Thankfully, he’s tall and was able to place it back on, but it looks like it needs a screw and a stopper. Later he leaned on the ac until near the table and the panel started to shift. He joked and said he wasn’t going to touch anything else. Overall a good time. Definitely memorable. Oh and you can hear the train 🚂 pretty loud when it passes by. Thankfully, I’m a pretty heavy sleeper but I did wake up and hear the train. It’s across the street so it is pretty...
