Mountain View Cottages — Attraction in Indio

WORST APTS. EVER! Mountain View Cottages is sooo bad, they have a horrible roach problem, leaks everywhere, used/old AC units constantly breaking down, they will Raise your rent 4x per year (every single year right after your lease ends) there is absolutely No rent control here, bad/poor management, and they have signs allover "WARNING about ASBESTOS" toxins inside your apt unit. Their "Pest control" guy is a joke, he sprays 4corners in your unit & leaves; next day you have even more roaches due to the spray he uses. Brenda the manager is super biased & unfair, if she has some bias against you, good luck fixing your problems. Even if she likes you the maintenance crew will steal & vandalize your property/car (yes they know the car you drive due to their parking permit). The neighbors there are just as bad as management, get used to dog poop right in front of your door. If this sounds like a bad movie, well its not! It's just how it is at Mt. View Cottages, and after reading this you still feel like moving here, i would say you will end up regretting your decision you should instead spend some extra time w/your apt search to save yourself all the problems and trouble this place has. Find a better place to move to that doesn't have bad reviews...

i just filled out the application for a studio for me and my son last week. i was very persistant on doing anything to get approved. they told me people are actively applying so i should put in an appliacation asap. i took her word for it, so i went to get a money order for the $30 application fee and $100 holding deposit. i turned in my appliacation, the lady whose name i forgot, didnt really look at my application. she glanced at it and told me they will be in touch in about a week. less than 24 hours, i receive a call to found out i was denied. i really didnt understand how, im sure everyone that lives there does NOT have the best credit or etc. i have alot of rental history with no prior evictions, so for me to be denied for a studio is disappointing. i feel like something shady is going on, and they are just pocketing peoples fee. it dosent make sense to me and i will continue to address this issue until i get an answer. i know this is not based off credit or else i would of never been approved from other apartments i applied...

I currently live here, I moved in not so long ago. I’ve read some of the reviews and I feel that some of them are not giving a fair assessment of this complex. The place is older, the walls are a little thin.. but that’s to be expected of a place built in the past. The office is absolutely amazing, they are extremely friendly, they always answer the phone, they always email me right back, I honestly do not have a single complaint. As for maintenance, they actually were just at my place, they are also extremely friendly. They were smiling, fixed everything I asked, made sure my cat wasn’t around when they were caulking the bathtub and they came the same day I asked for help. The price of this place is great, great staff, great maintenance. I’ve also not had any issues with neighbors or parking.
