Leo’s Landing at Saluda Shoals Park isn’t just a playground—it’s a destination where kids of all ages and abilities can laugh, explore, and let their imaginations run free. From the moment you walk in, the colorful design and inviting layout send a clear message: this is a place where every child belongs.
What makes Leo’s Landing truly special is its inclusive design. Children with different abilities can play side by side, thanks to wide ramps, sensory play areas, and thoughtfully designed equipment. It’s not just about swings and slides—it’s about creating experiences where everyone feels welcome. Parents will especially appreciate the attention to accessibility, making it easy to supervise children while also giving them space to explore safely and independently.
The variety here is impressive. Little adventurers can climb, slide, and spin while others can dive into musical instruments, tactile panels, or shaded spaces for quieter play. There’s something magical about seeing kids make up games together, whether they’re pretending to be explorers on the climbing structures or musicians in the play orchestra. Every corner sparks creativity and social interaction.
The recreational area also scores high on comfort and convenience. There are shaded seating areas for families, plenty of open green space nearby, and easy access to the walking trails and other park amenities. It’s a spot where siblings, parents, and even grandparents can all enjoy time together.
What stands out most, though, is the atmosphere. Leo’s Landing feels joyful and inviting—a true community space that encourages active play, imagination, and friendship. It’s the kind of place where kids leave happily tired, parents feel at ease, and memories are made.
Whether you’re a local or visiting for the day, Leo’s Landing at Saluda Shoals Park is more than worth the trip. It’s a shining example of what a recreational childcare area should be: fun, safe, inclusive, and bursting with opportunities for...
Read moreBy far, this is the best family friendly park that my children and I have visited since relocating to Lexington. $5 to park for a day pass, or you can purchase a yearly parking pass - which is the better value if you visit often. Great landscaping and very nicely kept up. I love that there's secure fencing all around the perimeter of the playground area. There's also very soft, squishy padding all throughout the area - so it's very child friendly to protect from falls or whatnot. The playground equipment looks brand new and not worn down or dirty/broken. Restroom facilities are exceptionally clean and maintained. Lots of shade under picnic pavilions. Be warned that this location can get quite busy during peak months when public schools are not in session... but despite that, it's still a great time for everyone. There are plenty of playground equipment, in addition to other activities for us to do individually or as a group. I highly recommend this park, especially for families, and we anticipate revisiting this location again...
Read moreFirstly i would like to say the park is a good park and it is clean.
My review rating comes in with staff and safety. Yesterday i was playing with my son and slipped in a mud pile hurt my neck and shoulder pretty badly. when i got up another group of kids said their friend recently slipped the same way. The mud ruined my hoodie and pants even after i rinsed them off outside with a hose pipe to get majority of the mud off and then washed them. So please be careful these people have little to no safety signs.
2nd issue is staff when i applied the people in the office completely screwed up. They struggled to set up my account and struggled to accept payment and didn't even activate my card so when i came back the arm wouldn't go up and i had to go inside and have to redo it all. They don't really know or tell you anything at sign up like park closing early during the lights would've been nice. Oh and if they close early its wont...
